Thermal baths and water parks in Spain

Spain's balnearios are spa hotels first: long-established mineral-water houses such as Lanjarón in the Alpujarra, Graena near Guadix, Vallfogona de Riucorb and La Garriga in Catalonia, where the springs are used for treatments and a thermal circuit. Galicia is different: along the Miño hot sulphurous water rises to the surface, with open-air thermal pools at Outariz near Ourense and the Roman baths at Lugo. In Córdoba, the baños árabes revive the hammam.

The water parks are mostly outdoor and on the coast — the Costa Brava, the Costa Tropical, Menorca and Fuerteventura.
