For operators and managers
Your venue on ThermGuide
If you run a thermal bath, spa or water park, this page explains how it gets into the catalogue, how you take over its page, and how to keep that page right in every language. None of it costs anything.
Free
Being listed is free, and so is managing your page. There is no paid version.
No paid placement
No venue can buy a higher position, a badge or a better rating, and managing a page does not move it up.
No bookings, no commission
Visitors go to your own website for tickets and bookings. We sell nothing and take no fee.
How a page is made
Most pages exist before anyone from the venue gets in touch. Location, name and facilities come from OpenStreetMap, identifiers and licensed photographs from Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons, and the facts about the water and the pools from public sources and the venue's own website. The description is generated by a language model strictly from the facts the catalogue holds; it is given no other source.
A price appears only where a source states it plainly, with the date it was last checked, and it is withdrawn when it gets old. Ratings come only from visitors' reviews; a venue without reviews shows no rating.
Adding a venue that is not listed
- 1
Search the catalogue first: the venue may be listed under another name or in the next town.
- 2
If it is not there, press “Add a place” at the top or bottom of any page. Give the name, country, town and website, say whether you run the place, and leave your name and email.
- 3
A person reads every suggestion before anything is added, and writes to you if anything is unclear.
- 4
Once the page is online, you can take it over in one of the two ways below.
Nothing is added automatically, and a suggestion is not a promise that the place will be listed.
Showing that you run the venue
A page can be edited only by someone who has shown that they work for the venue. Both ways start from the same button, “Claim this venue”, on your venue's page.
With an email at the venue's domain
The quickest way, when your venue has a website on file and you have an address at its domain.
- Press “Claim this venue”, then follow the faster link under the form.
- Sign in, or create an account with “Sign up”.
- Enter your address at the venue's domain. We send a six-digit code to it; the code is valid for 30 minutes.
- Enter the code, confirm that you have the right to publish what you upload, and the page is yours at once.
With a request we review
For every other case: no website on file, or no address at its domain.
- Press “Claim this venue” and fill in the form: the email to reach you at, and optionally your name and anything that helps us confirm you run the venue.
- A person checks the request, usually against the venue's website, and writes to you or to the venue when that is not enough.
- Once it is approved, we send you a password so you can sign in and edit the page.
Access is never granted automatically on request. We keep a request for 24 months and then delete it. To hand a page over to a colleague, write to us.
Editing your page
Sign in, open “Your venues” and press “Edit page”. What you save appears on the public page at once, without review on our side. What you enter replaces our data, and our imports will not overwrite it.
- Name and address
- The venue's name, street, postcode and town, the operating company and the year it opened.
- Contact and opening hours
- Phone, email and website, and the opening hours written the way a visitor should read them — one line per day is fine.
- Status and season
- Open, temporarily or permanently closed, with a short note shown next to the badge (for example “Closed for renovation until 15 March”), the season and any adults-only times.
- Water
- Water and source temperatures, well depth, mineralisation and minerals, whether the water is certified as medicinal, and the indications. Indications are shown as your statement; list only what your medical team stands behind.
- Pools, saunas and facilities
- The number of pools indoors and outdoors, the water area, slides and saunas, and the facilities on site.
- Prices
- Your tariffs as they apply today: the ticket, amount, currency and condition. They are shown with the date you saved them and disappear after 6 months unless you save them again, so that no old price outlives its season.
- Description
- A short summary of one or two sentences for the top of the page and search results, and a full description with basic formatting. Prices do not go in the text; they belong in the Prices section, where they carry their date.
- Photos
- Up to 20. Each is cropped to 16:9 and optimised automatically. The first leads the gallery, you can change the order, and you choose one as the image on catalogue cards. Describe each photo for visitors who cannot see it, and upload only photographs you have the right to publish.
Writing in several languages
The site is published in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Slovenian. Facts such as the address, temperatures, pools and prices are entered once and appear in every language. Only the name and the two descriptions are written per language.
In the description section you choose how to handle languages:
I write in one language
The default. Write in the language you are most at home in. Your text appears on every language version at once, exactly as you wrote it, and within a day each copy is replaced by a translation. If you later save the text in another language, that one becomes the original and the rest are translated again.
I write every language myself
Choose the language you are editing and save each one separately. Nothing is translated automatically, and a language you leave alone keeps the text it had.
Translations are made by a language model from Anthropic. Only the texts you write about the venue are sent to it, never anything about you or anything a visitor submits. You can switch between the two modes at any time.
What you agree to
- You publish only texts and photographs you have the right to use, and you are responsible for what you publish.
- Your account is for managing your venue. We may suspend an account used to publish false information about a venue, its own or a competitor's.
- Managing a page does not change its position in lists, on the map or in search.
Questions
Does it cost anything?
No. Neither the listing nor managing it, and there is no paid version to upgrade to.
Can we pay to appear higher?
No. The order of venues does not depend on payment, or on whether a venue manages its own page.
Why can we not claim the page with our email?
The quick way only accepts an address at the domain of the website we have on file for the venue. If the website is missing or wrong, or you write from another address, use the request instead, or write to us at hello@thermguide.com.
How quickly do our changes appear?
As soon as you save, on every language version. Translations of your texts follow within a day.
Why do our prices disappear?
A price nobody has re-checked is wrong by the next season. Saving your tariffs again keeps them on the page for another 6 months.
Who translates our texts?
A language model made by Anthropic, used only for the texts a venue writes about itself. You can switch it off and write each language yourself.
Can a colleague manage the page instead of me?
Yes. Write to us at hello@thermguide.com, and we move access to them after the same check.
Can our page be removed?
Write to us at hello@thermguide.com, say which venue it is and why, and we will reply.
