Termas de Outariz

Termas de Outariz is a Japanese-inspired thermal leisure station on the banks of the River Miño in Ourense, Galicia. The site presents itself as one of Spain's most innovative termo-lúdica (thermal-leisure) facilities, built around the idea of transmitting "a place of peace and tranquillity" (un lugar de paz y tranquilidad).

Thermal waters

The venue is fed by the natural thermal waters that rise along this stretch of the Miño valley, and it has a dedicated section describing the waters' properties and composition. The site is clear that its use is exclusively recreational (exclusivamente lúdico) rather than therapeutic.

Pools and Japanese-style baths

The setting draws directly on the Japanese onsen tradition, with bathing arranged into two themed routes:

• Circuito Celta — the Celtic circuit.
• Circuito Zen — the Zen circuit.

Bathers move through the outdoor thermal pools set beside the river, in a design consciously inspired by the Japanese bathing style for which Outariz is known.

Wellness

Beyond the pools, the station offers a range of treatments — relaxation treatments, beauty treatments and seasonal treatments — as well as gift vouchers for those wanting to give the experience.

Family visits

Outariz caters to families, including a "Family Onsen" experience. Access is set from a minimum age of 5 years, with documentation required for children between 5 and 8.

On site and setting

A cafeteria with its own specialities is available on site. The station sits right by the Miño, with parking on the far side of the river, and can be reached by car, by urban bus or by the city's tourist train. General admission is around €6.95 per person for a two-hour visit including the changing rooms, and no advance reservation is required.
