Thermal baths and water parks in Romania

Western Romania lies on the same hot-water basin as eastern Hungary, and its local form is the ștrand, an open-air thermal lido: Băile Felix and Oradea in Bihor, Tășnad, Carei and Săcueni near the Hungarian border, and the Neptun lido on the Mureș in Arad, where one of the pools is thermal.

In Harghita, at Praid and Vlăhița, salty and mineral water comes from the mountains. Near Bucharest, Therme București at Balotești is a large indoor geothermal complex open all year.
