Wellness Center Praid

Wellness Center Praid is a year-round thermal wellness complex in the salt-mining town of Praid, in Harghita County, Romania. Set at Str. Minei Nr. 79, it draws on the region's celebrated saline resources to offer, in its own words, "relaxation, energy and pampering for body and soul, throughout the year."

The water & its source

The centre's signature feature is therapeutic salt, carbo-gaseous (carbonated) thermal mineral water drawn from a depth of 1,000 metres. This water carries an exceptionally high mineral concentration, with a composition that includes sodium (116,070 mg/l), calcium (2,952 mg/l) and magnesium (1,069 mg/l), at a pH of 6.8.

The facility recommends its waters for a range of conditions, including chronic respiratory conditions, degenerative rheumatic disorders, post-traumatic locomotor problems, peripheral neurological conditions and gynecological concerns. A bathing time of 20-30 minutes is advised, which can be repeated 2-3 times after a minimum 20-minute pause.

Alongside the dedicated shallow children's pool (60 cm deep), the centre has a children's playground and runs children's swimming lessons, for which pre-registration is required.

The complex also includes a fitness room, available on its own or via monthly subscription.

Setting & visiting

The centre sits in Praid, a town in the Transylvanian highlands famed for its salt mine and saline waters. Standard admission is sold as three-hour or full-day tickets, with reduced rates for children and discounts for local residents. During the summer holiday period the centre operates from 10:00 to 20:00.
