Strand Termal Carei

Overview

Thermalis Strand Carei (also known as Ștrand Termal Carei) is a thermal strand and aquapark set on green grounds on Strada Viilor in Carei, Satu Mare county. The complex combines outdoor thermal and cold-water pools, water slides, a restaurant and on-site accommodation, and after 21:00 the venue also operates as a pub with a bar, DJ and open-air terrace.

Geothermal Water & Source

The strand draws thermal water from its own borehole (foraj propriu). The water has been chemically and microbiologically analysed and is used therapeutically, with benefits noted for rheumatological and post-traumatic conditions.

Pools & Attractions

The site operates seven different basins in total, including:

• A dedicated thermal basin with therapeutic properties
• An Olympic-style swimming pool, 1.40 m deep
• A pool served by a water slide, 1.70 m deep
• A kamikaze landing basin, 1.20 m deep
• A round children's pool with shallow water

Four water slides are available, including a fast kamikaze descent and a funnel (pâlnie) slide, with slides running daily from 11:00 to 18:00. Deep-pool access is reserved for strong swimmers, and pool depths across the complex range from roughly 1.2 to 2.4 m.

Family & Kids

A dedicated circular children's pool with shallow water and a play area is provided for younger guests. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult, and standard pool rules apply (shower before entering, no jewellery, watches or glasses on the slides, no jumping or pushing).

Setting & Amenities

The strand offers grassy beach areas with loungers and umbrellas, a poolside bar serving beverages and snacks, and free parking. There is also a modern event hall with a garden for gatherings.

Dining

The on-site Thermalis restaurant serves authentic Romanian cuisine alongside international dishes prepared fresh daily. A daily menu is offered Monday to Friday, 10:00–16:00 (for example, soup, a main such as grilled meat or schnitzel, and a side). Poolside terrace seating lets guests eat steps from the pools without leaving the complex.

Accommodation

Lodging is available on the premises in three styles: motel rooms (with private bathroom, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and parking), A-frame cabins with private terraces and barbecue areas (shared bathrooms), and group cabanas sleeping up to 14 people with private barbecue areas, bathrooms and showers. All guests have access to on-site dining, parking, Wi-Fi, green spaces and grill areas.
