Geothermal water of Băile Felix

Ștrandul Apollo sits in Băile Felix, Romania's largest geothermal spa resort, fed by the region's celebrated thermal springs. The spring water emerges at temperatures between 40 and 49°C. Classified as oligomineral, it carries a salt concentration of a little over 1 gram per litre and is so pure it can be consumed as drinking water. These waters are long renowned for their beneficial properties for the locomotor system, including degenerative and inflammatory rheumatic conditions, post-traumatic recovery and certain neurological conditions.

A resort steeped in nature

Băile Felix is famous not only for its thermal water but also for its rare flora, thriving in the warm microclimate: the white water lily (Nymphaea candida), the sacred lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) and the bald cypress (Taxodium distichum). The water lily was declared a natural monument in 1931. The resort's documented use of the thermal springs dates back to 1221, and its therapeutic qualities earned a gold medal and honorary diploma at the 1896 Paris World Exhibition.
