Bioterme Mala Nedelja

Bioterme Mala Nedelja is a thermal spa resort in Mala Nedelja, in the municipality of Ljutomer in northeastern Slovenia. It combines indoor and outdoor bathing with a wellness and sauna area, a four-star hotel and glamping accommodation. The resort was named Best Bathing Place 2024 in the medium-sized category, an award it states it received two years running.

The water

The pools are filled with thermal mineral water drawn from two wells. The site does not publish the water's temperature, mineral composition or the depth of the source.

Pools

The indoor pool area covers 600 m2 of swimming-pool space. Outdoors there is a main swimming pool and a children's pool, which the resort notes are open in July and August; outside the summer season the outdoor offering centres on heated whirlpools and a relaxation pool. The outdoor grounds include sun terraces, grassy areas and shaded spots, along with a children's playground.

Saunas & wellness

The sauna area includes a Finnish sauna (with a stated temperature range of 70-100 °C), a Turkish sauna, an infrared sauna and a herbal sauna, and saunas can be rented individually for up to three hours. After the sauna, guests can use a relaxation corner with music and tea. The wellness programme covers massages (including Ayurvedic massages), pedicures, physiotherapy, a fitness centre and a hydromassage pool. Baths for two are offered under themed names such as Fruity harmony, Sweet indulgence, Prleška fairy tale and A touch of the Mediterranean.

Facilities

Accommodation is provided by the four-star Hotel Bioterme, described by the resort as the first environmentally friendly hotel in northeastern Slovenia, and by Glamping Sun Valley, which offers villas and tents; motorhome parking is also available. The hotel has a restaurant, and the thermal park has a buffet restaurant serving food and drinks. A summer terrace seats up to 200 guests under a roof and can host gatherings of up to 500. Other on-site amenities include a post office, an e-charging point and an ATM. The resort runs year-round animation programmes and offers children's birthday packages and wedding services.

Visiting

The thermal park is open Monday to Thursday and Sunday from 9:00 to 20:00, and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 to 21:00, with extended hours on Sundays preceding public holidays. Towel rental is available at the thermal park reception for a fee, and bikes can be rented (adults: 3 euro for two hours, 8 euro for a full day). Residents of Ljutomer receive a 25% discount on full-day and afternoon swimming passes on weekdays.
