About

Parktherme Bad Radkersburg is a thermal spa in Bad Radkersburg, in the Austrian region of Styria. It sits within roughly 50,000 m2 of natural parkland and is certified as medicinal. The venue combines thermal and sport pools, an eight-part sauna village, relaxation zones and treatment studios, and it has been named Austria's thermal spa of the year on several occasions.

The water

The thermal water is drawn from nearly two kilometres below ground and reaches the pools at a temperature of 34 to 36 degrees C. With a mineral content of around 8,000 mg per litre, it is described as one of the most mineral-rich thermal waters in Austria. Its recognised minerals include hydrogencarbonate, iodine, magnesium, sodium and sulphur, and the water is used in applications for circulatory, musculoskeletal and skin conditions.

Pools

Bathing areas include the Vitalbecken thermal pool and the Quellbecken source pool, alongside a 50-metre outdoor sport pool. A dedicated children's area offers water features including a Wildbach stream, a one-metre diving tower and a family slide.

Sauna & relaxation

The sauna village brings together several sauna types, among them a Finnish sauna, a Biosauna, the Vulkansauna, an infrared sauna, a wine-cellar sauna and the Murnockerl steam bath, complemented by a Kneipp pool and specialty infusions. A separate relaxation zone features a light-and-sound temple with gently swinging loungers.

Treatments & facilities

The Vitalstudio provides massages and cosmetic treatments, while the Vita med health centre offers therapy and cure programmes. Dining is available across several venues, including the Fontane and Mehrblick restaurants, the Castello self-service restaurant, the Genussbar and the Lava Lounge. On-site accommodation includes the four-star Vitalhotel der Parktherme and a campsite.

Visiting

The thermal baths open daily from 9:00, closing at 21:30 Monday to Thursday, 23:00 on Friday and Saturday, and 20:00 on Sunday; the last swim is 15 minutes before closing. The sauna village opens from 9:30. A day ticket for adults costs 37.20 euros, with reduced rates for students, children and other categories, and a family ticket for two adults and two children costs 92.00 euros. Sauna access is an additional 10.20 euros on any ticket. Shorter three-hour and evening tickets are also offered.
