About

Aquae Vivae is a thermal water park at Krapinske Toplice, in Croatia's Krapina-Zagorje county, built around a spring the town has used for well over a century.

The water

The water arrives at 41 °C and is used at that temperature, needing neither heating nor cooling. The published analysis gives 450 mg of dissolved minerals per litre, among them 293.0 mg/l bicarbonate, 52.4 mg/l calcium, 39.7 mg/l sulphate and 31.5 mg/l magnesium, with a pH between 7.3 and 7.7. The venue classifies it as hyperthermal and, because of its low mineral load, as an acratotherm, rising out of Lithothamnium limestone. The first chemical analyses of the Krapinske Toplice water were made in 1858. According to the venue the water is used for rheumatism, spinal disease, neuromuscular complaints, diabetes with joint complications, post-traumatic states before and after orthopaedic, surgical and neurosurgical operations on the locomotor system, heart disease and disease of the peripheral blood vessels.

Pools

The park has an outdoor pool that runs 365 days a year, a wave pool, a pool with a slide and underwater massage stations, a diving pool and a children's pool.

Sauna and eating

A sauna world forms the wellness zone, and the Vivae restaurant is on site.

Visiting

Open daily from 09:00 to 21:00. The park is at Ulica Antuna Mihanovića 1a.
