About
Vadaš Thermal Resort occupies a site of 30 hectares in Štúrovo, on the Slovak side of the Danube opposite Esztergom, and is run by VADAŠ, s.r.o. The operator calls it the largest thermal aquapark in Slovakia. Its published pool counts do not agree with each other and the discrepancy is worth stating plainly: the home page speaks of 12 pools of which 6 are open year-round, the aquapark overview page speaks of 14 experience pools of which 8 are outdoor and 6 open year-round, while the Bazény page describes ten individual pools by name, only one of which (the sitting pool with the naturist beach) is marked as in operation all year. Readers should treat the headline figure as approximate.
The pools listed with technical data are the diving pool (115 m², boards at 1.5, 2.5 and 4 m, water to 30 °C, 380 cm deep, June to August); the Oáza pool (1,145 m², to 30 °C, 60-125 cm, June to September); the Lagúna wave pool (3,800 m², to 30 °C, 5-150 cm, June to August); the 50 by 21 m swimming pool (to 28 °C, 190-200 cm, May to September); the Relax experience pool (25 by 20 m, to 40 °C, 60-120 cm, May to September); the Hviezda experience pool (1,350 m², to 30 °C, 90-130 cm); the children's experience pool (660 m², to 35 °C, 20-60 cm); the bubble pool (20 by 20 m, to 40 °C, 105 cm); the sitting pool with naturist beach (200 m², to 40 °C, all year, naturist section June to August); and Termálne kúpalisko II (25 by 21 m, to 30 °C, 110-170 cm, 1 July to 31 August). Beyond the water, the resort lists a slide park, a multifunctional sports pitch, a carousel area, a rope park and a year-round fishing lake, plus apartments, a hostel and a campsite. The three-star Wellness hotel Thermal stands inside the grounds with its own wellness centre and sauna world.
The operator publishes no source temperature, no well depth and no mineral analysis for the thermal water on the pages describing the aquapark, so no figure for the spring itself is given here.
Hours are seasonal. The outdoor pool complex runs 10:00-18:00 from 1 to 31 May and 1 to 20 September, 09:00-20:00 from 1 June to 16 August and 09:00-19:30 from 17 to 31 August, open every day including holidays. Termálne kúpalisko II opens 09:00-19:00 Tuesday to Sunday between 1 July and 30 August, closed Mondays. The indoor swimming hall runs from late September to 30 April, 12:00-21:00 on weekdays and 10:00-21:00 at weekends, and is closed from 1 May to 22 September. The hotel wellness centre is open all year, 12:00-21:00 for outside guests, though the sauna world is out of operation from 1 June to 31 August. Morning swimming and club training sessions occupy parts of the swimming pool on a published schedule, and the operator warns that the swimming pool is closed to the public during competition dates.
