Open-air summer water park at Mogyorod beside the Hungaroring, with about 1.5 kilometres of slides on 11.5 hectares; closed for the whole 2026 season and due to reopen in summer 2027.

About

Aquarena is an open-air water park at Mogyorod in Pest county, immediately beside the Hungaroring motor-racing circuit and about fifteen minutes from Budapest. The operator describes it as Hungary's largest entertainment water park and gives its area as 11.5 hectares. It is a summer attraction rather than a year-round bath: there is no covered hall, and the site itself warns that in cool, windy or rainy weather the park may simply not open, advising visitors to check before travelling. A campsite on the grounds offers several kinds of accommodation, and the park also rents day beds, sun-lounger sets and canopies.

The park is closed at the time of writing. Its home page states plainly that Aquarena shut for the 2026 summer season and that the next opening will be in the summer of 2027; no reason is given and no reopening date beyond the season is named. The 2026 tariff remains published: a full-day adult ticket including slide use cost 12,400 forint, a student or pensioner ticket 9,900 forint and a child ticket 6,800 forint, with cheaper afternoon tickets after 15:00 and a discounted Wednesday rate for students and children.

Slides are the core of the offer and the operator's two counts of them disagree. The home page lists 1.5 kilometres of slide track and 28 different slide runs; the pools-and-slides page describes the same system as 1.5 kilometres long and made up of 23 slides, 17 for adults and 6 for children. Individual runs are described with figures: the Vakond (mole) slides are 130 metres long and pass underground, the Kalandcsuszdak (adventure slides) drop riders as much as 120 metres into a pool 14 metres below, the Nagy csobbanas racing slide has six 60-metre lanes falling four storeys, and the Oriaskigyo (giant snake) is a 50-metre pair of intertwined tubes. Other named rides include Fekete lyuk, Repuloszonyeg, Rafting, Szabadesés, Vadvizi folyo and UFO. A shoulder height of 120 cm is required for every slide outside the children's pool.

The still water is plain heated or ambient pool water; nothing on the site claims thermal, mineral or brine water, and no temperature is published for any basin. The operator names the pools individually instead of counting them: a 700-square-metre leisure pool with a current channel, bubble bath and rainforest cascade; a children's pool; a circular glass-mosaic jacuzzi; a diving pool 3.5 metres deep with rock ledges one to three metres high; a 300-metre Lazy River; and the Blue Cave, a lake-filled grotto reached from the Lazy River through a rock canyon.
