Aquaworld Budapest

Aquaworld Budapest is the water-park half of the Aquaworld Resort Budapest complex in the Csillaghegy area of northern Budapest, beside the M0 ring road near the Megyeri bridge. Hungarian Wikipedia records that the complex was handed over on 8 December 2008 at a cost of 17 billion forint, that it covers 8.6 hectares of ground and 86,000 square metres in total, and that the water park sits under a transparent, multi-layered foil dome 72 metres in diameter rising to the height of five storeys. The same source describes the interior as modelled on an Angkor temple ruin. Alongside the bath the complex holds a 309-room hotel, a conference centre, restaurants and the separate Oriental Spa wellness and fitness department, which is not part of the leisure-bath ticket.

The bathing offer is indoor and year-round. The operator states that fifteen pools and eleven slides of nearly one kilometre combined length work summer and winter in the covered bath, and that the complex as a whole holds nineteen pools over 4,000 square metres of water surface. Individual temperatures are listed pool by pool: the inner leisure pool at 32-34 C, the outer leisure pool at 32 C, the wave pool at 28 C, the children's pool at 30 C, the red jacuzzi at 34-36 C and the blue jacuzzi at 36-38 C, the indoor swimming pool at 27-29 C and the beach and diving pools at 26-28 C. The outdoor beach pool and outdoor children's pool are noted as out of service from 15 October. The wave pool runs waves at the top of each hour, and an Aqua Spray Park of about 400 square metres serves the youngest visitors.

Eleven slides are named. Three start on the fourth floor (Ufo, Szivarvany, Fekete lyuk) and three on the fifth (Kamikaze, Forgoszel, Repulo szonyeg); a mountain-stream slide, an onion slide and a family slide run lower, and four short slides sit at the children's pool. All of them are indoors. Slides and the other powered attractions begin operating at 10:00 rather than at opening time. The sauna world is kept apart from the bathing hall and, in the operator's words, consists of eleven different units; it is included in the bath admission price.

On water type the operator is specific about the source but not about a thermal licence: the pool water is karst water which surfaces at 32.3 C, and the site publishes a component table (543 mg/l hydrogen carbonate, 120 mg/l calcium, 86.7 mg/l sulphate, 41 mg/l magnesium, 29 mg/l sodium, 1.2 mg/l fluoride) without a total dissolved-solids figure. Practically, this is warm karst water rather than a strongly mineralised medicinal water or a brine. The bath is open every day from 07:00 to 21:00, with the pool hall closing 30 minutes earlier and ticket sales ending at 19:45; a whole-day adult ticket costs 10,000 forint on weekdays and 11,900 forint at weekends, and the price includes the sauna world.
