Bókay strandfürdő

The site the catalogue lists as Bókay strandfürdő is operated under the name Park Uszoda és Strand by Városgazda XVIII, the district's non-profit municipal company, and stands among the veteran trees of the Bókay-kert park in Pestszentlőrinc. The covered swimming hall is the older half and runs through the year. The open-air part came in 2002, when an experience pool and a children's paddling pool were added and district residents gained a lido of their own; it was rebuilt again in 2022, taking in part of the ground left by a closed adventure park, with the lawns re-seeded, two drinking fountains installed and the buffets enlarged.

Indoors there is a single basin: a four-lane teaching pool of 25 by 16 metres, 140 cm deep, on a modern circulation plant that watches water quality and temperature continuously. Mornings belong to schools, since the council pays for compulsory lessons for a whole year group from the district's schools, close to a thousand pupils, and the hall also takes classes for pupils with disabilities and afternoon therapeutic swimming. A hundred-seat stand serves galas and competitions. Sauna, solarium and massage are attached, and there are a hundred lockers each on the women's and men's sides with six showers on each.

The outdoor season adds two pools: an experience pool of 25 by 11 metres at 140 cm, and a paddling basin for toddlers five metres across and at most 50 cm deep, its water held at around 30 degrees. The rest is a park lido rather than a spa — a maintained sand volleyball court, a petanque piste, a playground enlarged in 2022, picnic tables, a sun terrace, and a buffet and restaurant whose terrace looks over the sunbathing lawn towards the experience pool. Swimming caps are compulsory in the indoor pool and can be hired at the desk.
