Júlia Fürdő

Júlia Fürdő (Julia Bath) is a thermal and medicinal bathhouse in Nyíregyháza, Hungary, operated as part of the Aquarius spa group. The site describes it as a classic bathhouse that has been serving guests for nearly 50 years in the heart of Nyíregyháza, and one the local community regards almost as a family member.

The water

The bath is supplied by a medicinal water that the venue describes as rich in sodium chloride, iodine and bromine. According to the site, the water rises from a depth of 900 metres. The venue states that this water has a particularly beneficial effect in treating joint, rheumatic and musculoskeletal conditions.

Pools & saunas

The bath offers hot and cold plunge pools, a children's paddling pool, and an outdoor therapeutic pool. It also has a sauna area, presented by the venue as elegantly appointed, along with rentable Finnish log cabins. The team notes its preference for a hot sauna culture, saying it does not consider a sauna below 100 degrees a sauna at all.

Treatments

The wider Aquarius complex includes a dedicated bath therapy facility, the Aquarius Bath Therapy, which opened in 2015 and provides balneotherapy and physiotherapy treatments. Its listed services include healing-water pool baths, weight baths, carbonated baths, therapeutic medical massage, underwater jet massage, underwater group therapy and physical therapy. The therapy is directed at rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases and at rehabilitation following orthopaedic and trauma surgery; a spa medical examination is available to guests who have already seen a rheumatologist and have known rheumatological conditions.

The site lists opening hours of 09:00 to 20:00, Monday to Sunday, with additional weekday morning swimming from 06:00 to 08:30 (excluding holidays). The bath is located at Malom u. 19, 4400 Nyíregyháza. Note that at the time of writing the venue's website lists Júlia Fürdő as temporarily closed.
