Tóalmási Szent András Gyógyvizes Fürdő

Tóalmás sits on the western edge of the Great Plain, and its bath exists because of an accident. A hydrocarbon exploration borehole drilled in 1969 came up barren and produced thermal water instead. The aquifer lies 870 m down, and the water leaves the wellhead at 47.5 °C. The operator is careful to point out that it is unlike most Alföld thermal waters: low in hardness and alkaline-hydrogencarbonate in character rather than saline. A 2001 public health assessment classed it as a medium-mineral, sodium-hydrogencarbonate water of 1150 mg/l, suitable for both bathing and drinking; it was registered as a mineral water in 2002 and certified as medicinal water in 2004 under the name Szent András, after trials run in two of the bath's own pools on patients with knee and hip joint complaints.

The place is a village strand rather than a spa resort. The grounds cover more than 1.6 hectares of grass and part-shaded parkland, with a two-hectare car park in front of the entrance where parking is free, plus small-sided football pitches and a volleyball court on the lawn. All four pools are open-air. The largest is a 12×25 m bathing pool with water recirculation, held at 28 °C and 1.6 m at its deepest point; a 6×10 m medicinal pool with seating benches runs at 36 °C and only 0.45 m deep; a 6×10 m children's pool sits at 32 °C; and the newest addition is a 20 m² baby paddling pool with its own sand-filter pump, plumbed independently of the others.

Bath medicine runs as a separate weekday operation, 08:00 to 16:00, offering underwater jet massage in a tangentor tub, dry and in-water physiotherapy, medical massage and use of the medicinal pools, with a category of treatments listed as state health-fund supported. The indication the operator names is degenerative spine and limb joint disease. Opening hours for the strand itself change three times a year, and admission is capped at 298 people on site at once. A campsite and a youth camp with accommodation share the same grounds, which is why the bath is open year-round rather than only in summer. The Finnish sauna still listed in the site menu is currently out of service.
