Thermal Bath Bükkszék

Bükkszéki Gyógy- és Strandfürdő is a medicinal and beach bath at Bükkszék, in the Mátra foothills of northern Hungary. It is built around the Salvus water, which the venue calls world-famous, and pairs a winter bath-house with a summer beach section.

The water

The pools are held at 39 °C. The water holds the Hungarian gyógyvíz designation, an official medicinal certification, and is very strongly mineralised: 22,989 mg per litre, which makes it a brine rather than a mineral water, with chloride and iodine dominating the analysis. The same water is bottled and sold under the Salvus name.

Pools

The winter bath-house holds the indoor pools. Outdoors, the beach section is arranged around a circular medicinal-water pool — the bath's emblem — with a swimming pool, an experience pool, a children's pool and a slide park beside it.

Treatment and sauna

Underwater therapeutic gymnastics is offered, and the sauna world has a Finnish sauna, a steam cabin, an aroma cabin and a Salvus inhalatorium. Massage is available on site.

Visiting

The beach section runs daily from 9:00 to 19:00, with the cash desk and the pools closing at 18:30. In the 2026 summer season a four-hour adult ticket is 4,300 Ft and a full day 5,100 Ft; seniors and children aged 6 to 18 pay 3,800 and 4,600 Ft, and under-sixes enter free. Family tickets run from 10,700 Ft for one adult and two children up to 17,800 Ft for a full day for two adults and two children, and ten-visit passes are sold at nine times the single price. Visitors with a documented disability get 10% off. A restaurant, accommodation and a gallery belong to the site, which is at Fürdő út 10.
