Tiszafüredi Termál Strand és Gyógyfürdő

The Tiszafüredi Termál Strand és Gyógyfürdő (Tiszafüred Thermal Beach and Medicinal Bath) is one of the best-known year-round baths on the shore of Lake Tisza (Tisza-tó), set in a quiet, park-like garden at Poroszlói út 2 in Tiszafüred, eastern Hungary. Sitting only a short walk from the town's train and bus stations, it pairs a genuine medicinal spa with a family bathing complex and an adjoining thermal campsite, making it a base for both cure-seekers and holidaymakers exploring the Tisza-tó recreation region.

Thermal and medicinal water

The bath is fed by an alkaline hydrogen-carbonate (sodium-bicarbonate) medicinal water that has earned official recognition as a gyógyvíz (certified curative water). Its documented mineral profile includes roughly 265 mg/L sodium, 708 mg/L hydrogen-carbonate and 39 mg/L metasilicic acid, along with calcium, potassium, magnesium and further trace elements. The water is particularly valued for treating chronic musculoskeletal, rheumatological and disc- and cartilage-degeneration complaints, and bathing is complemented by physiotherapy treatments (fizikoterápiás kezelések) delivered on site.

Pools

The complex offers a mix of indoor and outdoor basins so it can operate through every season:

• Covered thermal pool at around 38 °C for warm medicinal bathing.
• Outdoor sitting thermal pool (built in 2007) at roughly 32-34 °C.
• Therapeutic pool in the 35-38 °C range for curative use.
• Beach (recreational) pool at about 28-32 °C for relaxed summer bathing.
• Swimming pool at roughly 22-24 °C, also used for swimming lessons.

Wellness and health

As a gyógyfürdő (medicinal bath), the emphasis is on genuine cure and recovery: warm curative pools, physiotherapy, neck-shower jets and an on-site medical/health point (operated by Tiszafüredi Sanitas Corporis Kft.) support therapeutic stays. Sun terraces and sunbeds line the pools for rest between soaks.

Family and leisure

Families are well served by a children's playground (játszótér) in the grounds, organised swimming lessons, cabin rental, ample parking and a buffet for refreshments during the day.

Camping and accommodation

The bath shares its site with the Thermál Kemping (thermal campsite) and the Gólyafészek Panzió guesthouse, so visitors can stay overnight right beside the pools. This makes the venue a convenient base for a multi-day cure or for a Lake Tisza holiday combining bathing with the lake's beaches, water sports and cycling routes.

The bath's Lake Tisza location places it within Hungary's largest inland-lake recreation area, prized for its calm backwaters, birdlife and shoreline. The train and bus stations are about a ten-minute walk away, and the grounds are easily reached by car with parking on site.
