Tiszacsegei Termálstrand is the open-air thermal bath of Tiszacsege on the Hungarian Great Plain, where water rises from 1,295 metres at 72 °C. Declared a gyógyvíz — a certified medicinal water — in 2000, it fills two adult thermal pools beside a shallow children's pool and a cold swimming pool.
About
Tiszacsegei Termálstrand is the open-air thermal bath of Tiszacsege, in the Hajdú-Bihar county of the Hungarian Great Plain, run by the town and sharing its grounds with the Holdfény campsite.
The water
The thermal water rises from 1,295 metres at 72 °C. Its composition has been analysed repeatedly, and in 2000 it was declared a gyógyvíz — the Hungarian state's medicinal-water designation. The bath describes it as an alkaline hydrogen-carbonate medicinal water carrying a large amount of dissolved organic matter, and says it is particularly recommended for muscular and rheumatic pain and for scaly skin conditions.
Pools
Bathers have two adult thermal pools, a shallow children's pool and a cold-water swimming pool. Together the basins take 1,300 people. Forty-five cabins and buffets serve the grounds.
History
The town carried out a development of the bath in 2004, half of it from a state grant.
Visiting
The bath is at Fürdő utca 6 and keeps a separate winter timetable. It opens Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00 and is closed on Mondays.
