Termálfürdő Leányfalu

Termálfürdő Leányfalu is a thermal bath at Leányfalu, on the Danube bend north of Budapest. It is a summer-facing municipal bath rather than a spa hotel, and it stays open into the night at the end of the week.

The water

The water is drawn from a well 2,023 metres deep, sunk in 1968. It holds the Hungarian gyógyvíz designation, an official medicinal certification, and sulphur dominates the analysis. According to the venue it is used for skin complaints.

Pools

There is a swimming pool, a beach pool and a children's pool, with water aerobics classes on the programme.

The heating project

Between December 2021 and the end of 2024 the bath rebuilt its heat supply with a grant of 249,999,936 Ft, covering the whole cost. The thermal well was renovated and a heat pump installed, splitting the pools into two groups — those heated directly by the thermal water and those assisted by the pump. Drainage water is now collected in a reservoir, giving the pump a source at about 30 °C, and solar panels were added to cover part of the electricity. A monitoring system replaced what the venue describes as a previously unregulated heat supply.

Visiting

The bath is open daily from 06:00 to 19:00, with a separate late session from 20:00 to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. An afternoon ticket from 16:00 is 3,000 Ft and the night-swimming ticket 5,000 Ft. The bath is at Móricz Zsigmond út 142.
