The bath dates from the start of the 1970s, when the district council of the day put up a swimming complex on what had been the local school's agricultural practice garden, paid for by a public subscription among residents together with a state grant; the operator dates the foundation to 1970. The first phase of the works sank a hot-water well 960 metres deep and added a reservoir sized for 30,000 cubic metres of thermal water and a belt of park woodland around it. The grounds now run to 75,000 square metres, of which 30,000 are taken up by the lake, another 30,000 by lawn and planting and 15,000 are held in reserve for development. Since winning a tender, BERES-AQUA Kft. of Miskolc holds the exclusive right to run and exploit the bath for fifteen years, and put close to 100 million forint into the site in 2022.

The well yields about 1,000 litres a minute, roughly 60 cubic metres an hour, and is screened at eight separate levels; total dissolved mineral content reaches 2,500 mg per litre. Left to flow freely the wellhead carries half a bar of overpressure and delivers water at 42 degrees, with a pH of 8.0 that the operator credits for the water's alkaline, skin-softening feel. The hydrogen-carbonate and fluoride water holds a Hungarian medicinal certificate, which is what permits its balneological use: the bath lists locomotor, rheumatic, joint, circulatory, dermatological and gynaecological complaints among its indications, and mentions the water's use as a drinking cure for intestinal function. Current abstraction is licensed at about 50,000 cubic metres a year, a tenth of what the well could technically supply.

Bathing is spread over three basins. The centrepiece is a 500 cubic metre thermal pool in three sections, each plumbed so it can be filled and drained on its own and therefore held at a different temperature: one undivided part sits at 32 to 34 degrees and doubles as a children's swimming-lesson pool, while the two arms of the divided part run at 34 to 36 and 36 to 38 degrees. Under the thuja trees a two-part children's pool of more than 100 square metres, with a water slide and its own circulation plant, runs seasonally at 28 to 30 degrees. The 25 by 12 metre swimming pool is the exception: it is filled from the town mains rather than the well and warmed through a heat exchanger to 26 to 28 degrees, sloping gently to a maximum depth of 1.5 metres. Total water surface across the site is around 1,000 square metres.

Beyond the water the site keeps a sauna and a gym in the winter changing building, along with showers and about 100 lockers, and a summer cabin block of similar capacity. A sand beach-football pitch, an artificial-turf football pitch, asphalt volleyball and handball courts and a foot-tennis court are covered by the entry ticket; the artificial-turf pitch and the garden pavilions are hired separately. The 30,000 square metre lake carries six angling stands stocked with bream, carp, grass carp, silver carp and large catfish, and allows rowing and motorboating in summer, while a 5,000 square metre English garden alongside it holds barbecue and cauldron-cooking places, a lakeside walk, a playground and a foot-tennis court. Doors open daily from 09:00 to 19:00; the sauna carries its own charge in winter operation.
