Pesterzsébeti Jódos-sós Gyógy- és Strandfürdő

The Pesterzsébeti Jódos-Sós Gyógy- és Strandfürdő is at 1203 Budapest, Vízisport u. 2, near the Csepel crossing on the Kis-Duna bank, and is one of the sites of Budapest Gyógyfürdői és Hévizei Zrt. Parking is free for bath guests. According to the Hungarian Wikipedia the lido closed in 2001 and the medicinal bath in 2005 for economic reasons; after a full refurbishment the complex reopened partially on 17 December 2018 and completely on 10 July 2019, and it has been open all year since 2018.

The pools that work through the year are an adventure pool at 34–36 °C and 110–120 cm deep with a swim-out into the lido area, an unroofed 25 m swimming pool at 26–28 °C and 210 cm deep that operates winter and summer, an indoor children's pool at 30–32 °C and 20–50 cm deep that since 16 February 2026 runs only at weekends, on public holidays and between 1 June and 31 August, and an outdoor sitting pool at 35–37 °C beside the swim-out where bathers may play chess. The medicinal side has an iodine-salt medicinal pool at 36–38 °C with a recommended bathing time of ten minutes, a thermal pool at 38–40 °C and 100 cm deep, and a weight bath at 34–35 °C available only on medical prescription; medicinal water is barred to under-14s. The seasonal outdoor area adds a wave pool at 26–28 °C shelving from 0 to 2.2 m and an outdoor children's pool at 30–32 °C under a shade sail; the lido area, with its playground and fitness park, is closed in winter.

The sauna world is a separated block with its own changing rooms and showers. Indoors it holds a Finnish sauna at 80–90 °C for 20 people, a steam cabin at 45–55 °C for 8 and an infrared salt cabin at 45–50 °C for 6; outdoors there is a second Finnish sauna at 80–90 °C for 20, working 12:00–19:40 on weekdays and 8:00–19:40 at weekends. Cold and warm plunge pools at 17–19 °C and 40–42 °C, both 170 cm deep, take three bathers at a time.

The bath draws on two wells. The Hungarian Wikipedia article on the 20th district records that one of them yields 43 °C thermal water from 644 metres, while the salt-iodine water of the other comes from 112 metres at 15 °C. The operator describes the thermal well as a calcium-magnesium-sodium-chloride-sulphate-hydrogen-carbonate hot water containing fluoride, sulphide, potassium, metasilicic acid, iodine and bromine, and marks the iodine-salt well as currently not in operation. A news item dated 10 October 2025 explains that because of the technical inspection of the salt-iodine well and its water plant, every medicinal pool in the bath has been filled with Szent Erzsébet medicinal water since July 2021, that the inspection has been completed and that preparatory and construction work towards recommissioning is under way. Treatments, all on prescription, are medicinal pool bathing of 20 minutes, medicinal tub bathing, carbonic bath, underwater jet massage, mud treatment, weight bath and medical massage, indicated for degenerative joint disease and for chronic and subacute joint inflammation.

The bath is open 08:00–20:00 from Monday to Friday and on Sunday and 08:00–22:00 on Saturday, with the cash desk closing an hour before and the pool halls and sauna world to be left 20 minutes before closing; on Saturdays the swimming pool, in summer the wave pool, and the lido area close at 19:40.
