The Lehel Termálfürdő és Kemping in Jászberény is a family-friendly medicinal thermal bath and camping site whose sodium-hydrogen-carbonate curative water, drawn from two wells at 45 °C and 55 °C, feeds swimming, covered and thermal pools and is used mainly for rheumatic and joint complaints.

About

The Lehel Termálfürdő és Kemping is a municipally operated thermal bath and camping site in Jászberény, in Hungary's Jász region. It is a family-oriented, renovated facility (works were carried out in 2019) laid out over roughly 13,500 square metres, combining an indoor pool, outdoor summer bathing, thermal pools fed by curative water, and camping amenities.

Thermal water

The bath's medicinal thermal water is supplied by two wells: one 805 metres deep delivering water at 45 °C, and one 1,022 metres deep delivering water at 55 °C. The water is described as a sodium-hydrogen-carbonate (nátrium-hidrogén-karbonát) type curative water whose healing effect has long been recognised.

Pools

The facility offers several pools at differing temperatures, according to the venue's information:

  • Swimming pool at approximately 25–28 °C
  • Covered (indoor) pool
  • Thermal pool I at 37–38 °C
  • Thermal pool II at 35–37 °C
  • Children's pool

Sauna and facilities

Two original Finnish saunas are available to visitors; the operator notes that the saunas do not run after 17:00 for energy-saving reasons. Additional amenities include sunbeds, lockers and cabins, a beach volleyball court and a football pitch, a children's playground, and a buffet. As reflected in its name, the site also functions as a camping ground.

Medicinal indications

The thermal water is used primarily for the treatment of rheumatic and joint (musculoskeletal) conditions. According to the operator it is also suitable for easing complaints following accidents and surgery, as well as gynaecological conditions.

Opening hours

In the summer season the bath generally opens on weekdays from 8:00 to 20:00 and at weekends from 9:00 to 20:00, with early-morning swimming available on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00. Ticket sales close 30 minutes before closing time.
