Dévaványai Gyógyfürdő

Dévaványai Strandfürdő és Gyógyászat is the municipal bath of Dévaványa, in Békés county on Hungary's southern plain, and stands in the western part of the town at Sport utca 5. The operator presents it as a bath for recreational tourism with one thermal pool, two swimming pools with a taut water surface and a children's pool, and states that the medical department works all year while the beach section operates seasonally. Alongside the pools the site lists a sauna, massage, a solarium and a whirlpool, a youth hostel with wooden cabins and pitches for tents and caravans on the same grounds, and sports facilities including a volleyball court and bicycle rental. Under the heading vízösszetétel the operator gives the water as a 53 °C gyógyvíz of sodium hydrogen carbonate type which also contains iodide ion and is slightly brownish in colour. The site states that decades of use by local residents have shown the beneficial effect of the gyógyvíz, above all in rheumatic complaints, and lists among these wear of the joints and spine, soft-tissue rheumatism, chronic rheumatic inflammation, inflammation of the nerves, nerve pain, nerve paralysis and wasted muscles. The thermal pool is described as a termálvizes gyógymedence and is presented as the place for guests who have come to rest; the operator states that in the winter season guests can use the medicinal-water pool, together with the whirlpool and a range of refreshing massages.

Pools

The operator lists four pools: one thermal pool, two swimming pools with a taut water surface and one children's pool. The site states that one of the bath's particular features is the slide attached to the outdoor swimming pool, which is free to use, and that the children's pool is laid out for the needs of small children. During the summer season pool use is listed as ending half an hour before the bath closes — 18:30 on weekdays and 19:30 at the weekend. Medical department

The medical department is open on weekdays throughout the year, and the operator states that a rheumatology consultation is held once a week, on Tuesdays. The treatments listed are rheumatology, electrical treatments, hydro- and balneotherapy, magnetotherapy, mechanotherapy, medicinal massage, physiotherapy exercise and massage specialities; the itemised list adds pool bathing, tub baths, carbonated baths, weight-bath traction, underwater jet massage, group underwater physiotherapy, ultrasound, iontophoresis and several forms of stimulating-current and galvanic treatment. The operator states that the beneficial effect of the water has been established in rheumatic conditions through long local use rather than presenting it as a claim of its own.

Sauna and wellness

The wellness offering is a sauna and massage; the site lists massages of 20 and 45 minutes and, on the medical pages, massage specialities, the sauna and a solarium as additions to a stay. Wellness is listed as open on weekdays from 7:30 to 11:30 and from 12:30 to 16:30, and closed at weekends.

For children

The children's pool is laid out to suit small children, and the free slide on the outdoor swimming pool is presented by the operator as entertainment for children and adults alike. The grounds hold a playground, and the site describes the bath as a venue for children's programmes and family events, with reduced offers for guests arriving with children. The youth hostel beside the bath is described as well suited to training camps, sports camps and school trips.

Accommodation and sport

The youth hostel connected to the bath grounds has twelve wooden cabins: five four-bed cabins with their own bathroom, refrigerator and air conditioning, one accessible two-bed cabin equipped in the same way, and six further four-bed cabins. There are twelve tent pitches and four caravan pitches, with electrical hook-ups for caravans, a communal room with a fitted kitchen, sanitary blocks separated by sex and an accessible block, fire pits, air conditioning, television, free WiFi, a playground, a volleyball court and bicycle rental. The operator states that guests staying there receive a free beach ticket for each day of their stay, and that the accommodation can be used only in the summer season. For sport the site lists the swimming pool, the volleyball court and bicycle rental, and notes a football pitch, running circuit, bike park and artificial-turf pitch 50 metres away at the Seres István sports ground, handed over in 2012, where it states the running circuit, bike park and small pitch are free to use by prior arrangement.

Opening hours

For the 2026 season the operator gives the beach bath as opening on 31 May; the opening-hours page names 15 September as the closing date while the beach page gives 13 September. Within the season the hours are 10:00 to 19:00 on weekdays and 9:00 to 20:00 at weekends, with pool use ending at 18:30 and 19:30 respectively. The medical department is listed as open Monday to Friday from 7:30 to 16:30 with a lunch break from 11:30 to 12:30, the rheumatology consultation on Tuesdays from 13:00 to 16:00, and wellness on weekdays from 7:30 to 11:30 and 12:30 to 16:30.
