Dévaványai Gyógyfürdő

Dévaványai Gyógyfürdő, operating as the Dévaványai Strandfürdő és Gyógyászat, is a thermal bath and therapy centre in the town of Dévaványa, in eastern Hungary. Located in the western part of the town at Sport utca 5, it pairs a seasonal outdoor beach bath with a year-round medical department built around the site's certified medicinal thermal water.

The water

The facility's therapy is based on thermal water with a temperature of 53 °C. The site describes it as a sodium-bicarbonate type water that contains iodide ions and has a slightly brownish colour. It is used as certified medicinal water for balneotherapy.

Pools & saunas

The bathing area comprises a thermal pool, two swimming pools with a stretched (competition-style) water surface, and a children's pool. A free-to-use outdoor water slide adjoins one of the swimming pools. A sauna is available, and the venue also offers a solarium.

Medical treatments

The medical department focuses on rheumatic diseases, listing degenerative conditions of the joints and spine, soft-tissue rheumatism, chronic rheumatic inflammation, neuritis and nerve pain, nerve paralysis, and muscle atrophy among the conditions it addresses. Treatments offered include rheumatology consultations, electrotherapy, hydro- and balneotherapy, therapeutic massage, therapeutic exercise (including underwater group therapeutic exercise), and magnetic therapy. The published treatment menu also names services such as interference therapy, TENS, ultrasound, carbonic-acid baths, weight baths, tub baths and pool baths.

Wellness & facilities

Alongside the medical services, the venue provides wellness offerings including sauna use and massage (available in 20-minute and 45-minute sessions). The site lists dining and sports facilities among its services, along with a car park and a children's playground. On-site accommodation is available in cabins (some with and some without private washing facilities), described as around 10 metres from the bath.

Visiting

The medical department operates year-round, while the beach bath runs seasonally (its 2026 season is stated as 31 May to 13 September). Beach opening hours are 10:00–19:00 on weekdays and 09:00–20:00 at weekends; the medical department is open on weekdays from 7:30 to 16:30 with a midday break. Ticket prices differ for local residents and visitors from elsewhere: an all-day adult beach ticket is 1,800 Ft for residents and 2,500 Ft for out-of-town guests, with reduced rates for students and pensioners and free entry for children aged 0–3. The venue accepts SZÉP Card payments (OTP, MKB and K&H).
