Dagály Termálfürdő, Strandfürdő és Uszoda

Dagály stands on Népfürdő utca in Budapest’s 13th district, on the Pest side of the Danube. It opened in 1948, was rebuilt in 2017–18, and is run by the Nemzeti Sportügynökség as the National Swimming and Water Polo Olympic Centre.

Its water base is the Béke well, drilled in 1944: a thermal well designated B-14, 125.9 metres to the bottom. The operator calls the water medium in dissolved minerals, calcium–magnesium–hydrogen-carbonate in character, hard and fluoridic, with significant sulphide and metasilicic acid. It states that the warm medicinal water is vasodilating, antispasmodic, muscle-relaxing and pain-relieving, and that as a drinking cure it serves catarrhal stomach and bowel complaints, excess stomach acid, inflammation of the renal pelvis and kidney stones; the claims are the operator’s.

Four outdoor pools run through the year: a 50-metre swimming pool at 27 °C with 1,250 m² of water, a 25-metre pool at 27 °C with 525 m², both 220 cm deep throughout, a thermal pool at 36 °C with 523 m² and a medicinal pool at 34 °C with 516 m². In summer the four Pillangó pools open at 30–34 °C: beach, adventure, teaching and children’s. The wellness department has a Finnish and an infrared sauna, a steam cabin, a tepidarium, a salt room, hot and cold Kneipp troughs, a 36 °C whirlpool and a cold plunge pool.

Swimming caps are compulsory in the swimming pools; under-14s may not use the wellness department and enter the thermal and medicinal pools only on prescription. Admission is a day ticket, with a two-hour swimmers’ ticket and wellness sold separately. Open daily 06:00–20:00.
