A thermal bath at Mühlhausen in Thuringia, with a sauna, open until 22:00 every day.

About

Thüringentherme is a municipal thermal bath at Mühlhausen in Thuringia, drawing on a well 425 metres deep. Its pools run cooler than most German therms, between 28 and 31 °C, and the timetable is built around the mixed use of a town bath: school swimming in the mornings, clubs in the evenings and a wave pool on the hour.

The pools and the programme

Water in the basins is held between 28 and 31 °C. The sports pool is divided by a movable wall and is given over to lane swimming late in the day — from 20:00 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and from 21:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. The wave pool runs every hour between 11:30 and 19:30. Early swimming starts at 06:30 from Tuesday to Friday outside the holidays, seniors have the pool from 10:00 to 12:00 on Mondays, and clubs swim from 17:00 on Mondays and Wednesdays. School swimming from 08:00 to 10:00 on Tuesday to Friday limits how much of the water is open to visitors at those hours.

Sauna

A sauna area is attached and charged as a supplement of 6.00 to 8.70 EUR per person, which is not reduced with the concessionary tickets.

Visiting

The bath opens from 10:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and from 09:00 to 22:00 at weekends. It is closed on 24, 25 and 31 December, and opens at 14:00 on 1 January. Children under 100 cm enter free. An adult pays 5.50 EUR for an hour, 7.00 EUR for an hour and a half, 11.00 EUR for up to four hours and 14.50 EUR for a day; children, students and disabled visitors pay 5.00, 7.50 and 11.50 EUR on proof of entitlement. A family ticket for two adults and two children is 33.00 EUR for four hours or 42.00 EUR for a day, and groups of 15 or more pay 10.00 EUR for four hours or 13.50 EUR for a day. The bath is at Lindenbühl 10 and has step-free access.
