The Inselbergbad at Brotterode-Trusetal in Thuringia is a municipal leisure bath on the Rennsteig ridge combining a 25 m indoor sports pool, warm and toddler pools, a tube slide, a spring-to-autumn outdoor area with an adventure pool and a wild-water channel, and a sauna world.

About

The Inselbergbad stands at Am Bad 1 in 98596 Brotterode-Trusetal in Thuringia and describes itself as a swimming bath on the Rennsteig, combining an indoor hall, an outdoor area open from spring to autumn and a sauna world. The operator writes that the indoor part holds a 25-metre sports pool at 28 °C, a warm pool at 32 °C, a paddling-pool installation for small children at 32 °C and a tube slide. The water is plain heated pool water: the site names no thermal spring, no brine and no mineral source anywhere, so this is a heated leisure bath rather than a thermal bath. Two pages of the site disagree about the slide: the home page lists an "80 Meter Röhrenrutsche" while the Bad page describes "eine 85 m Röhrenrutsche", and the operator does not resolve the difference.

From the hall bathers can swim out into the outdoor area, which the operator says offers an adventure pool, a wild-water channel and water spouts, and which is closed in winter. A large lawn, massage loungers, a beach-volleyball court and a children's playground complete the outdoor offer. The sauna world is enumerated rather than counted: a 65 °C bio sauna with colour change, music and scents; a salt sauna with a graduation works; a steam sauna; an 80 °C dry sauna outdoors with a scent kettle; and a 100 °C infusion sauna outdoors where infusions run hourly from 11 to 20. Between sessions there is a warm seated pool, a rest room, a cold plunge pool and Kneipp hoses.

The published opening hours are Monday to Sunday 10:00-21:00, with last admission at 20:00; on sauna nights bathing ends at 18:00 and the sauna at 18:30. These hours are contradicted for the current season by a notice on the home page: the operator is carrying out an energy refurbishment from 25 June 2026 to 30 October 2026, during which the bath is closed and only the sauna is open, from 9 August 2026, on Monday and Tuesday 10:00-21:00, Friday 14:00-21:00 and Sunday 10:00-21:00. The closure is announced as temporary and tied to the refurbishment. No admission prices are quoted here; the site keeps them on a separate prices page.
