H2Oberhof Wellness & Erlebnisbad stands in the centre of Oberhof in the Thuringian Forest and is run by Oberhofer Freizeit und Tourismus GmbH, Dr.-Curt-Weidhaas-Straße 2, 98559 Oberhof. The operator describes the house as the former Rennsteigtherme, reopened after rebuilding and modernisation under the present name. German Wikipedia's article on Oberhof dates the predecessor more precisely: the Rennsteig-Thermen were built between 1994 and 1996 for about 17.4 million euro and opened in November 1996, closed in October 2008 after accumulated deficits, rebuilt from December 2011 and reopened on 20 January 2014 as H2Oberhof at a cost of 10.3 million euro. Neither the operator nor Wikipedia describes thermal, mineral or brine water: a sweep of the homepage, the pool page, the outdoor page, the sauna page, the hours page and the tariff page finds no occurrence of Thermal, Sole, Mineral or Quelle. The water is ordinary heated pool water, and the predecessor's name Rennsteigtherme is not backed by any published source, depth or analysis either.

The pools are listed individually and no total is given. The Erlebnisbecken is 1.35 m deep and 30 °C, with geysers, bubble benches, massage jets and a grotto behind a waterfall. A small air-bubble pool runs at 35 °C and a large one is listed alongside it without a temperature. The whirlpool is 33 °C. The toddlers' pool in the Kinderland is 30 cm deep at 30 °C, with its own small slide and water toys. Outdoors, reached by a separate passage, is a stainless-steel pool of 10 × 15 m, 1.35 m deep, at 28-30 °C.

Two slides are published. The Röhrenrutsche is a dark tube run of 110 m with eight bends and a 25 % gradient, timed for racing and recommended from age 8 or with a parent. The Turbo-Rutsche is a steep speed slide which the operator says was built by the racing luger Hans Rinn, also recommended from age 8. The outdoor grounds add a water playground, a beach-volleyball court, a playground and a town-beach area with deckchairs and roofed wicker beach chairs; the Kinderland indoors has a play tower and a playroom.

The sauna landscape is presented as seven cabins with their temperature bands, again without a stated total: the Kelo event sauna at 80 to 100 °C, the salt sauna with Himalayan crystals at 45 to 55 °C, the steam bath at 45 to 50 °C with a salt scrub offered daily at 13:00 and 18:00, the bread sauna at 80 to 90 °C, the chimney sauna at 80 to 100 °C, the nature-projection sauna at 60 to 75 °C where the milder heat is said to allow stays of up to 30 minutes, and the brushwood sauna at 80 to 100 °C, where a Banja ritual with soaked birch twigs is held every Wednesday at 20:00. The house also has a wellness department with massages and cosmetic treatments, bookable without bath admission, a restaurant in the sauna area and a family bistro.

Bath and sauna are open Monday to Saturday 10:00-21:00 and Sunday 10:00-20:00, with special hours published separately and monthly evening events (a long sauna night and a night-bathing evening). Bath admission for adults from 16 is 17 € for three hours, 22 € for four hours and 25 € for a day, with an After Work rate of 12 € valid Monday to Saturday 18:00-21:00 and Sunday 17:00-20:00; children from 7 to 15 pay 14, 18 and 20 €, and children up to 6 enter free. Sauna admission including the bath costs an adult 28, 33 and 36 €, the surcharge for sauna use being stated as 12 € per person. Family tariffs and group rates from ten paying people are published, guests with at least 60 % disability receive 20 % off the standard bath admission, and overstaying moves the visitor automatically into the next tariff.
