Tauris Freizeitbad
Tauris is a leisure pool in Mülheim-Kärlich, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, which opened in 1991 and has been closed since 30 June 2023. It combined a sports pool, a leisure pool with a giant slide and a current channel, an outdoor pool and a sauna area.
About
The Tauris leisure bath stands in Mülheim-Kärlich, in the German state of Rheinland-Pfalz. It opened in 1991 and was operated on the city's behalf by Aquapark Management West GmbH. In 2012 it recorded about 290,000 visitors.
Its facilities included a sports pool with 25-metre lanes and a leisure pool fitted with a giant slide, a whitewater current channel and monkey bars, together with paddling pools, whirlpools and an outdoor pool. The complex also held a sauna area with an outdoor sauna, a Finnish sauna, a steam bath and a caldarium, as well as a restaurant.
Following a city council decision citing budget constraints, operations were discontinued on 30 June 2023, and the park has remained closed while the city seeks an investor for renovations.
