Kaiser-Friedrich-Therme

The Kaiser-Friedrich-Therme is a thermal bath in Wiesbaden, operated by mattiaqua and located at Langgasse 38–40. The venue presents itself as a textile-free bathing palace styled in the manner of an ancient thermal bath, with column-decorated rooms and elaborate ornamentation, and describes itself as a homage to the Roman steam bath on whose foundation it was built. Admission is restricted to guests aged 16 and over.

Thermal water and pools

Guests can bathe in a thermal seat pool filled with Wiesbaden spring water, offered in two temperature variants of 37°C and 39°C. Additional pools include a cold-water basin tempered to 24°C and a Wildbecken at 42°C. A drinking fountain in the rest area is fed with thermal water from the large Adlerquelle. Wiesbaden's thermal water is classified as a sodium-chloride source, containing roughly 4.0 to 6.0 grams of sodium chloride per litre alongside minerals such as sodium, calcium, iron, manganese and arsenic; the city's thermal springs emerge at temperatures of around 67°C at their main source.

Irish-Roman bath

The Irish-Roman bathing sequence moves through rooms of rising heat: a tepidarium with dry warm air of 40°C to 45°C, a sudatorium with dry-air temperatures of 50°C to 55°C, and a Russian steam bath at 42°C to 45°C.

Saunas and steam rooms

The sauna offering includes a Finnish infusion sauna at 85°C to 90°C with about 25 percent humidity, a sanarium at 55°C to 60°C, and a stone steam bath (Steindampfbad) heated with natural stones to 50°C to 60°C. Cooling and relaxation areas include a tropical ice-rain zone, a frigidarium fresh-air room, a lumenarium light-relaxation room, and a lavacrum cold-water immersion basin.

Wellness and dining

Selected wellness treatments such as massages and softpacks are available, and the on-site Quellenbar serves refreshing drinks.

Opening hours and policies

From 1 September the therme is open Monday to Sunday, 10:00 to 22:00, with the ticket office closing one hour and the sauna 30 minutes before closing. The facility is closed from 1 June through 30 August. It is a textile-free bath; a textile day is offered on Thursdays (since 2 January 2020), and Tuesdays are women's day.
