Roetgen Therme

Roetgen Therme lies in the Eifel at Roetgen, close to the Belgian border south of Aachen, and describes itself as a Saunadorf, a sauna village, rather than a spa built on a spring. The whole sauna area is textile-free, and the operator states that the communal sauna runs 365 days a year. Parking at both the bath and the neighbouring hotel is free, guests may eat in a bathrobe in the Galleria restaurant while a second dining area at reception is for ordinary clothing, and the site also holds a fitness studio and a brasserie. The Hotel Am Eifelsteig stands next to the bath and offers packages combining nights, breakfasts and sauna days, and the physiotherapy practice ZAP Relax operates alongside with massages and prescription treatments.

Five bodies of water are listed. The largest is the outdoor seawater pool at 32.5 degrees; indoors there is a swimming pool at 28 degrees and a whirlpool at 34; a second whirlpool at 34 sits outdoors and runs in summer only; and the Aqua-Vital-Center is kept at 15 degrees for cooling down. The seawater pool is the feature the operator puts on its own front page.

The heat rooms number seven and are each given a temperature. The hottest is the Aufguss-Sauna at 100 degrees, where the infusion programme runs; then the Jungbrunnen sauna at 95, the Urwald or jungle sauna at 90, the Edelstein or gemstone sauna at 85 and the Eifler Schwitzhütte, a regional sweat hut, at 70. Two milder rooms complete the set: a tepidarium at 60 degrees and a caldarium at 45. The house keeps a published infusion timetable and stages themed weekends, among them a three-day event at the end of September 2026 built around infusions, rituals and scents from different continents.

The bath opens at 11 in the morning from Monday to Thursday and closes at 10 at night; on Fridays and Saturdays it runs until midnight, and on Sundays and public holidays it opens an hour earlier and closes at 10. Walpurgis Night and Halloween are extended to one in the morning, and Christmas, New Year's Eve and Easter each have their own hours. From January 2026 a day ticket costs 29 euros and a two-hour ticket 24; students, pupils and apprentices up to 30 pay 19, as do hotel guests and anyone buying the two-hour swimming-only ticket. The sauna ticket always includes the bath, and anyone showing identification on their birthday enters free.
