Aqualand Freizeitbad

Aqualand Köln is a leisure pool in the Chorweiler district of Cologne, opened in 1991 and operated by Theune Spa Management. The complex is split into a bath world and a sauna world.

The bath world has several indoor and outdoor pools, nine water slides, two children's areas with their own slides, whirlpools and a restaurant. The sauna world adds eleven indoor and outdoor saunas, two steam baths, a hammam, water pools, a whirlpool and a Kneipp installation, again with its own restaurant. A fitness studio with a physiotherapy practice is also on site. The park uses a blue octopus mascot named Paulchen.

The nine slides are named Green Mamba (24 m, ages 4+), AQUAracer (82 m twin racing tubes, 6+), Red Star (110 m, 6+, currently closed), Tiger Splash (17 m wide, 6+), AQUAcanyon (103 m open rapids, 8+), Space Taifun (90 m funnel with light and fog, 8+), Boomerang (half-pipe, 8+), AQUAconda (150 m of curves and uphill stretches, max. 100 kg, 10+) and Looping (trapdoor free-fall, 40–130 kg, 10+).

Named saunas include an 80 °C Grubensauna styled as a mine shaft for up to 30 guests, a 100 °C Infernosauna, an Ottoman hammam and a 75 °C Zensauna facing a Zen garden. Pools are filled with warm water enriched with natural brine, and an outdoor current channel lets swimmers train against the flow.
