About
PRIENAVERA is a leisure bath standing directly on the Chiemsee at Prien in Upper Bavaria, operated by Chiemsee Marina GmbH. It combines an indoor bathing hall, a warm outdoor pool on the lakeshore, a sauna world and a separate lake beach bath. The water is plain heated water: nowhere on the pool, sauna, beach, hours or price pages does the operator claim a thermal spring, a well, a mineral analysis or brine bathing water. The only salt on the site is dry: a König-Ludwig salt room built of backlit salt blocks with a brine nebuliser, and this is an air treatment, not a pool.
The operator gives a total of five pools and then lists them with their temperatures. They are an adventure pool with a current channel at 30 °C, a whirlpool with colour-light effects at 34 °C, a warm outdoor pool on the lakeshore looking across to Schloss Herrenchiemsee, a 25-metre swimmers' pool at 27 °C, and a toddlers' pool at 31 °C. The temperature of the outdoor pool is given inconsistently on the operator's own page: the summary list says 33 °C, while the prose above and below it twice calls it a 34-degree pool, and the two are not reconciled. The outdoor pool has massage jets and underwater loungers and is open in summer and winter alike, with loungers set out around it in summer. The 25 m swimmers' pool has four lanes plus a fast lane and four starting blocks, and the operator describes it as the largest such pool in an indoor bath on the Chiemsee. A single slide serves the bath: a 62-metre Daylight tube slide.
The gallery above the hall carries shell-shaped relax loungers in a separate area, a children's dry play area with wooden toys, a solarium and a collagen anti-aging cabin, and brainLight massage chairs. Ten minutes in the collagen cabin costs 4.00 € and two minutes in the solarium 1.00 €, both charged to a coin and settled on the way out; the solarium is for over-18s only.
Part of the sauna area is included in the bathing ticket: the König-Ludwig salt room at roughly 50–60 °C, the quiet room and the sauna garden. The rest is charged as a surcharge. The textile sauna world holds a Finnish dry sauna indoors at about 80–85 °C, a Kelosauna, a rustic log cabin outdoors built of centuries-old Finnish kelo pine at about 85–90 °C, which may be used without swimwear, and a steam bath at about 45 °C with changing scents. A separate Panoramasauna in the beach bath, reached through the leisure bath, runs at over 85 °C, seats up to ten people, releases an automatic infusion every 20 minutes and has its own jetty and fenced bathing area in the Chiemsee; it is clothes-free from October to April and a textile sauna from May to September. The quiet room is a winter-garden-style room of silence looking on to a Mediterranean-style sauna garden with a rock garden and a sun terrace. In extreme heat infusions are held only in the evening.
The leisure bath opens in the summer season from 1 May to 30 September Monday to Friday 10:00–21:00 and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 09:00–21:00, and in the winter season from 1 October to 30 April Monday to Friday 10:00–22:00 and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 09:00–22:00. The beach bath opens from May to 13 September in good weather, Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 09:00–20:00; it offers a shallow entry into the lake, a jetty with a diving board, a playground, beachminton and volleyball, warm-water showers and a beach café. A three-hour ticket to the leisure bath costs 16.00 € for adults and 9.50 € for children from 6 to 17, a day ticket 22.00 € and 12.00 €, and under-sixes enter free; a 90-minute swimmer's tariff is 8.50 €. The sauna surcharge is 5.00 € for the leisure bath sauna and 5.00 € for the Panoramasauna. Admission to the beach bath is 3.00 € for children and adults alike. The operator publishes no opening year and the bath has no German Wikipedia article.
