Meersburg Therme & Freibad

Note on sources: the operator's website delivers all of its text from a script payload, so the statements attributed to meersburg-therme.de below were read from that payload and cannot be confirmed by a plain fetch of the page; only the opening year and the town are carried as machine-checkable facts. Meersburg Therme is a year-round bathing and sauna house on the shore of Lake Constance, operated by MeersburgTherme GmbH, whose Impressum gives the address as Uferpromenade 10-12, D-88709 Meersburg. The German Wikipedia article on the town dates the opening of the bath to 2003. In summer the same operator runs the adjoining Frei- und Strandbad, a lido with lake bathing, which in the 2026 season was announced as open until 13 September; sauna guests are admitted to it without surcharge, and thermal-area guests in the summer months as well.

The water is not documented as thermal. On the operator's own pages the words Thermalwasser, Quelle, Bohrung and Heilwasser do not occur at all: a keyword sweep of the homepage, the Therme page, the sauna page, the about page, the contact page, the Freibad page and the hours-and-prices page returns only Thermalbecken as the name of one pool, Thermalbad in a footnote on children's admission, and Sole in the sense of a brine inhalation room, not of the bathing water. No source temperature, no well or borehole depth and no water analysis are published anywhere on the site. The German Wikipedia entry for Meersburg records the 2003 bath as having a "Thermal-, Erlebnis- sowie Eltern-Kind-Bereich" but likewise names no spring and no source data. On the published evidence, "Therme" here is a name rather than a statement about the water.

Pool temperatures are given individually in the operator's FAQ and no total number of pools is stated: the Thermalbecken is held at 34 °C and is fitted with massage jets and bubble loungers, the whirlpool at 36-37 °C, the outdoor sauna pool at about 30 °C and the plunge pool used after a sauna round at about 12 °C. An image caption on the Therme page refers to the view from an infinity pool over the lake. Alongside the pools the thermal area contains a textile sauna and a textile steam bath, a brine inhalation room, the air room called Grüne Lunge, a massage department and a gallery reached by stairs, which the operator names as the one part of the house that is not step-free.

The sauna landscape is headed "Fünf Saunen und ein Dampfbad". The bio sauna is run at 60 °C with 40-55 % humidity. The remaining four are described as a panorama sauna indoors and three pile-built cabins outdoors, the See-, Pool- und Lehm-Sauna, together "Insgesamt vier Saunen, die mit 80-100 °C Körper und Geist anregen", with a recommended 8-15 minutes per round and an hourly Aufguss ceremony. The textile sauna and textile steam bath in the bathing hall are counted separately from these five. From 14 September 2026 the Monday women's sauna day is discontinued and the sauna area is open to all guests on Mondays.

The operator gives opening hours for Therme & Sauna as Mo. - So., 10-22 Uhr, with shortened or closed days published for the Christmas period (closed on 24 and 25 December 2026, 10-22 Uhr on 26-30 December, 10-18 Uhr on 31 December). Admission to the thermal area is 19 € for three hours, 29 € for a day and 16 € on the evening tariff from 18:30, with a 3 € surcharge on Saturdays, Sundays and Baden-Württemberg public holidays; children and young people from 4 to 15 pay 13,50 €, 21 € and 11,50 €, and children up to 3 enter free. With the sauna an adult pays 30 € for three hours and 40 € for a day, the footnote stating that this includes an 11,00 € sauna surcharge. Lido admission is separate at 7,50 € a day for adults and 5,50 € from 16:30. Overstaying is charged at 1,50 € per started half hour up to the day rate, and parking near the bath costs a flat 4,00 €.
