The Bodensee-Therme in Überlingen, Germany, is a certified medicinal thermal bath on the shore of Lake Constance, drawing 37°C mineral water from more than 1,006 metres underground into indoor and outdoor pools, a five-sauna area, and a lakeside beach. It is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00.
About
The Bodensee-Therme is a thermal bath in Überlingen, Germany, set directly on the shore of Lake Constance with views across the lake toward the Alps. It combines mineral thermal water with an indoor pool hall, an outdoor bathing area, a sauna world, and its own lakeside beach, and is recognised as a certified medicinal facility.
The water
The thermal water is drawn from a depth of more than 1,006 metres, where it has taken up its minerals over long geological timescales. It surfaces at around 37°C and carries sodium, chloride, hydrogen carbonate, fluoride and iron. Bathing in it is associated with support for the musculoskeletal, circulatory, respiratory and rheumatic systems, and the operator notes stress-reducing and immune-supporting effects. The venue recommends spending roughly three hours on a visit, taking two to three baths of 15 to 20 minutes each with rest periods in between.
Pools
All pools are filled exclusively with thermal water. Indoors there is a 25-metre thermal sports pool kept at about 27°C, a warmer thermal whirlpool at around 36°C, cascade pools in the region of 33 to 36°C, and a Kneipp pool for cold contrast bathing, alongside relaxation zones with lake and Alpine views. Outdoors, a large thermal pool at roughly 33°C offers bubble loungers, massage jets and a current channel, and a pebble beach gives direct access to Lake Constance. A dedicated children's area is also provided.
Saunas
The sauna area comprises five saunas together with steam rooms across an indoor section and a sauna garden. Indoors are a 45°C steam bath, a 60°C aroma bath scented with herbs and blossoms, a 70°C colour-light bath and an 80°C mineral sauna with daily infusions. The garden holds a lakeside boathouse sauna at 85°C, a 90°C fireplace sauna with direct water access, and a large panorama sauna at 85°C, each with scheduled infusions through the day. Additional guided rituals, including a mineral booster steam ceremony, are offered.
Facilities
Beyond the pools and saunas the venue offers massage services and a restaurant featuring regional Lake Constance cuisine. It works with a family-friendly certification partner and uses a demand-based pricing model with online booking.
