About
Aquasol in Rottweil is run by the municipal utility ENRW at Brugger Straße 11 and combines an indoor brine and leisure bath, a sauna area branded aquasauna, a wellness and therapy department and a seasonal outdoor pool, the Freibad Rottweil. The operator groups the indoor basins under the heading “Sole- & Freizeitbad” and lists them as one 25-metre swimmers' pool at 28 °C, one non-swimmers' pool at 30 °C, one Fitnessbecken at 32 °C, one paddling pool 35 cm deep at 32 °C and one indoor brine pool at 34 °C. The swimmers' pool has five lanes; the non-swimmers' pool is equipped with massage jets and floor bubblers; the paddling pool is for the smallest children. A 126-metre tube slide is named among the bath's headline figures, as is an annual attendance of 400,000 visitors.
The “sol” in the name is real brine rather than branding: the bath calls itself a “Sole- & Freizeitbad” and describes an indoor Solebecken of 34 °C whose brine dosing is regulated by the operator. The website does not claim a thermal spring or a well of its own, and publishes no mineral content, so the water is heated, brine-dosed water rather than naturally thermal water. Brine also appears in the sauna area, where a Soletempel at 40 °C runs with an attached graduation works (Gradierwerk) of blackthorn bundles over which brine trickles into the air, at up to 100 % humidity.
The sauna area offers a choice of five saunas plus a vaulted steam bath and the brine temple, at temperatures between 40 and 90 degrees. The operator names them individually: a Steinsauna at 90 °C, a Tavernen-Bad at 70 °C, an infusion sauna at about 85 °C with hourly infusions between 11:30 and 20:30, a Lichtersauna at 85 °C, a Sternensauna at 80 °C, the Gewölbedampfbad at 45 °C with up to 100 % humidity, and the Soletempel at 40 °C. Cooling is by three cold plunge pools and an ice fountain. The aquasauna has held the German Sauna Association's five-star premium seal since 2018. Children may use the sauna from the age of three, and under-16s only accompanied by an adult.
The indoor bath and the sauna both open daily from 10 to 22 h, with the last admission one hour before closing; Wednesday is a women's sauna day. The separate outdoor pool runs a summer season given as 22 May to 13 September 2026, Mondays, Fridays and Sundays 08:00–20:30 and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays 06:30–20:30. Public water gymnastics is held in the brine pool Monday to Friday at 11:00, 13:00 and 19:00 outside the school holidays. Admission prices are published on a separate page of the operator's site and are not reproduced here.
