Karoli-Badepark

The Karoli-Badepark stands on the Karoliberg above Waldkirchen and is run by the town; its address is given as Vdk-Heim-Str. 1, 94065 Waldkirchen, with the operations manager listed at the Stadtwerke Waldkirchen. The operator describes the site as covering four hectares, oriented south-west towards the sun and offering a distant view. It has no website of its own: the domain karoli-badepark.de redirects to the Badepark section of the town's tourism site, which is where the operator publishes its own pages.

The indoor hall holds a sports pool of 25 by 10 metres with a large area of loungers, plus a solarium and an infrared cabin; on the lower floor there is a children's pool with an adjoining whirlpool. The Mediterraneum is a separate modern glass building whose pools are all fed with thermal brine water (Thermal-Solewasser), at a water temperature the operator gives as around 34 degrees. The operator enumerates its basins as a brine pool, a warm-water pool, a seated pool and a so-called Erzaehlbecken (chatting pool), together with massage jets, an outdoor pool and quiet zones; an adjoining hotel has direct access to the Mediterraneum. The water here is therefore brine, not plain heated water, and the overview page for the bath advertises salt water on the skin.

The outdoor pool is new, described as solar-heated and open since Whitsun 2025. It has a climbing wall, a wide water slide (Breitwasserrutsche), a waterfall and a current channel, a swimmers' pool with massage jets, three shaded paddling pools for the smallest children and an adjoining playground; no slide lengths are published. A restaurant named Happiness with a sun terrace serves the outdoor pool, and there is catering in the indoor part as well.

The sauna pages contain a discrepancy worth noting. The operator writes that two saunas in bathing dress and a wellness room are available, but then describes three heated rooms: an Aromabad with dried herbs at 60 degrees warmth and 40 per cent humidity, a Biosauna also called a Sanarium, and a dark granite steam bath at 45 degrees with 100 per cent humidity. A rain shower, a Kneipp hose and a drinking fountain provide cooling, and a free sea-salt peeling is offered on Tuesdays at 19:30.

Opening hours are daily from 10:00 to 20:00 for the indoor pool, Mediterraneum, saunas, children's pool, whirlpool and outdoor basin, with an exception in the winter season when Tuesday and Thursday run until 21:00; the outdoor pool also runs 10:00 to 20:00 daily in suitable weather and was given as opening from Saturday 23 May 2026. The bath is closed on All Saints' Day and Christmas Eve and closes at 16:00 on New Year's Eve, and the operator announces a full closure for maintenance from 15 September to 9 October 2026. Published admission includes an outdoor-pool day ticket at 6.00 euro for adults and 3.00 euro reduced, with a family day ticket at 15.00 euro and an evening tariff valid 17:00-20:00 at 4.00 euro; the indoor pool is charged by the hour at 3.00 euro for adults, 12.00 euro from four hours, and the combination of indoor pool with the Mediterraneum costs 4.50 euro per hour or 18.00 euro from four hours.
