About

Therme Geinberg, part of the Spa Resort Geinberg, is a thermal bathing and wellness resort in Geinberg, Austria. It combines thermal and salt-water pools, an extensive sauna world, an adults-only wellness area and on-site accommodation, and describes itself as Austria's first CO2-neutral thermal spa.

The water

The resort draws on a sulphur medicinal water (Schwefel-Heilwasser) that emerges at a source temperature of 100 °C and is entered in Austria's official register of medicinal waters, reflecting its certified-medicinal status. In addition to sulphur, the water carries iron among its minerals. The thermal pools are tempered to 35 °C for bathing.

Pools & water world

Five pools together make up around 3,000 m² of water surface, with temperatures ranging from 26 °C to 35 °C. The indoor thermal pool covers 627 m² at 35 °C and the outdoor thermal pool 877 m² at 35 °C, both filled with the thermal water. The Karibik-Lagune is a 432 m² salt-water pool at 35 °C with a sandy beach, the Kaskaden-Becken measures 359 m² at 35 °C with thermal water, and the Sport-Becken is a 502 m² fresh-water pool kept cooler at 26 °C. Whirlpools and massage jets are also part of the water world. The outdoor area extends over 2,000 m² across four levels, including a palm-planted "Palmen-Bucht" with 500 tonnes of sand, 50 palms, a round outdoor thermal pool and hundreds of loungers.

Saunas

The Karibische Saunawelt (Caribbean Sauna World) gathers 11 themed saunas and steam baths, open to guests aged 16 and over. These range from milder cabins such as the Palmen-Sauna and Blüten-Sauna (60 °C) to hotter Finnish-style saunas including Aruba, the Sonnen-Sauna and the Grenada event sauna (90 °C), plus the Vulkan-Dampfbad steam bath (45 °C at 100% humidity). Outdoor and indoor whirlpools, a cold-water basin and heated loungers round out the area.

Wellness (SPAplus)

SPAplus is a 2,500 m² adults-only area for guests aged 18 and over, with indoor and outdoor pools, a rooftop-garden sauna (90 °C), a Finnish event sauna for up to 30 people, a foam steam bath, a Himalaya-salt lounge, a hamam and several relaxation lounges. A separate Vitality Spa provides spa treatments.

Facilities

The resort includes a 4-star-superior hotel with Classic, Superior and Deluxe rooms, the Geinberg5 Private Spa Villas with their own restaurant, and a fitness centre.
