About

Europa Therme is a thermal bath in Bad Füssing, Germany, roughly 75 minutes' drive east of Munich. It is a certified medicinal facility built around a 3,000 m² indoor thermal water landscape and a separate sauna area, and it opens every day of the year.

The water

The thermal water is calcium-, iron-, magnesium- and sulphur-bearing and rises from the source at about 37 °C, with pools warmed to as much as 40 °C. As a certified medicinal water it is applied to a range of complaints the venue lists, including degenerative changes of the spine and vertebral joints, disc problems and postural issues; recovery after fractures, injuries and orthopaedic operations; high and low blood pressure and autonomic dysregulation; paralysis after accidents and states following stroke; chronic gynaecological inflammation and adhesions; and general aims such as stimulating metabolism and easing stress-related and age-related conditions.

Pools

The complex has 17 different pools with temperatures spanning 27 °C to 40 °C. Among them are a thermal hall bath of 190 m² at 37 °C fitted with massage nozzles, a 60 m² pool at 34 °C beneath a starry-sky ceiling, a 200 m² attraction pool at 35 °C, a cold-warm pool alternating 18 °C and 40 °C, a 180 m² deceleration pool at 37 °C, a 180 m² massage pool at 36 °C, a 300 m² pearl pool at 36 °C, a 560 m² flow channel at 36 °C, swimmer pools of 250 m² at 29 °C and 470 m² at 27 °C, and two therapy pools of 200 m² each at 35 °C.

Sauna & wellness

A 1,000 m² sauna area holds two Finnish saunas with infusion (aufguss), a panorama sauna at about 90 °C, a cedar-wood automatic-infusion sauna at about 80 °C, a bio-sauna at about 60 °C and two herbal steam grottos. Additional wellness features include an AeroSalzum salt-aerosol area, an infrared deep-heat zone with 18 seats, a sulphur-gas bath equipped with 76 special jets, a cold foot-bath and a rest oasis (Ruhe-Oase). Meals are available at the on-site ThermenWirt restaurant, café and terrace, and the venue has underground parking.

Visiting

The thermal bath is open 07:00–21:00 and the sauna area 10:30–18:30, 365 days a year. A five-hour ticket for the medical thermal bath costs €19.50 (€20.50 including the thermal sulphur-gas bath), while an unlimited day ticket is €23.50 (€24.50 with the sulphur-gas bath). A combined thermal-bath-and-sauna day ticket is €33.50. Cheaper options include an early-riser ticket (07:00–08:00 entry, two hours) at €8.50 and an evening bathing card from 17:00 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at €13.50; children aged 3–14 receive a 10% discount.
