Sulphur thermal resort in Upper Austria in three parts: the Tropicana convertible-roof bath, the Aquapulco pirate world and the AusZeit sauna village.

About

The Eurotherme Bad Schallerbach is at Promenade 1 in Bad Schallerbach, Upper Austria, and is operated by EurothermenResort Bad Schallerbach GmbH together with the four-star-superior Hotel Paradiso. It is divided into three ticketed areas under one roof: the Cabrio-Therme Tropicana, the Aquapulco pirate world and the Sauna-Bergdorf AusZeit. The town's standing as a spa rests on a sulphur thermal spring; German Wikipedia, used here as a second source, records that the sulphur thermal spring was tapped in 1918 and that the bathing installations were reopened under the name Aquapulco in 1995 after extensive rebuilding. The operator confirms that the bathing water is thermal water and notes that it can take on a greenish tint depending on light and mixing ratio.

Tropicana is the thermal and health-pool section, built around a 1,000 m² winter garden 14 metres high whose roof can be opened in fair weather, with a palm-planted sand beach and lagoon. Its pools are the Thermal-Lagune at 35 °C, the darkened Colorama pool at 34 °C with underwater music and a 15-metre screen, the Panorama outdoor pool at 34 °C with a massage channel, and the Whirlyacht at 36 °C seating eight. A separate group of health pools comprises a sulphur grotto at 38 °C, a brine bath at 36 °C and an iodine-selenium bath at 36 °C, each with a stated therapeutic indication. The Korallen-Grotte adjoins a 20,000-litre aquarium held at 24-26 °C, 2.6 metres wide and 6 metres high.

Aquapulco is the family and slide section, with a wave pool, slides and a Baby Bay at 36 °C for small children with a quiet parent-and-child area. The AusZeit sauna village occupies more than 4,000 m² on three levels and is described by the operator as Upper Austria's largest sauna world, with more than forty saunas and relaxation places. Named cabins include the Bergkristall Aufguss sauna at about 80 °C, the Wilderer and Almhüttn Aufguss saunas at about 90 °C, the Most-Fassl adventure sauna at about 85 °C, the Bergwerk and Baumhaus saunas at about 75 °C, a hay sauna and a mild herb sauna at about 55 °C, a bread-oven sauna at about 70 °C, a salt sauna at about 45 °C, a women-only 250 m² Edelweiss area with a rose steam bath at about 45 °C, and an ice world kept at -5 to -10 °C.

Tropicana and AusZeit open from 09:00 to 24:00 Monday to Sunday; Aquapulco opens 09:00 to 22:00 Sunday to Friday and 09:00 to 24:00 on Saturday, with bathing ending thirty minutes before closing. The Beauty Vital Club runs 10:00 to 19:00 daily, and therapy reception and treatments keep separate weekday hours. Aquapulco is closed for scheduled maintenance from 14 to 18 September 2026.
