Jordanbad

Jordanbad lies in the parkland of Oberschwaben just outside Biberach an der Riss and belongs to the St. Elisabeth-Stiftung, a Franciscan foundation whose church of St. Johannes and Franziskus chapel stand on the same grounds as the pools. The operator describes a site of 9,000 square metres, split between a thermal, brine and family bath of 6,000 square metres and a sauna landscape of 3,000 square metres. The thermal water is drawn from a depth of 1,000 metres and is described as rich in sulphur and fluoride.

The bathing side is arranged as three connected worlds. In the thermal bath an indoor pool is held at 34 degrees, an outdoor pool reaches up to 35 degrees with an automatically adjusted summer temperature, an aroma pool sits at 34 degrees and a small spring basin, the Quelltopf, at 39 degrees; massage jets, neck showers and evening light projection run through both indoor and outdoor sections. The brine bath is kept at 35 degrees and salted with up to four per cent Dead Sea salt, and is surrounded by a steam grotto, a warm island with red light, a Kneipp treading basin and solaria. The family bath holds a 30 degree main pool suited to long stays, a toddler pool at 33 degrees with a mini slide, a 15 metre wide slide taken side by side, and a 70 metre tube slide on which the operator claims speeds above 30 km/h.

The sauna side is built as a Saunadorf, a village of huts set around a natural pond. Outdoors there is a Finnish infusion sauna and a fireplace sauna at 85 to 90 degrees and a herbal sauna at 80 to 85 degrees; indoors a Finnish infusion sauna at 85 degrees, a Vitalsauna at 75 degrees, a Softsauna at 65 degrees under an artificial starry sky, a steam grotto and a thermal pool with bubble seats. Cooling is handled by a water centre with twelve experience showers and three plunge pools at different temperatures. Infusions run hourly in the large outdoor sauna, with two extra indoor slots at 11:30 and 18:30. The bath opens daily from 9:00, closing at 22:00 from Sunday to Thursday and at 23:00 on Fridays, Saturdays and the day before a public holiday, with the last admission an hour before closing. A Dorint Parkhotel has operated on the site since 1 September 2025.
