Alpspitz-Bade-Center (ABC)
The Alpspitz-Bade-Center in Nesselwang combines a heated indoor and outdoor leisure bath, a 25-metre sports pool, a 115-metre tyre slide and six sauna cabins with an adjoining natural bathing lake below the Alpspitze.
About
The Alpspitz-Bade-Center, shortened to ABC, stands at Badeseeweg 11 in Nesselwang in the Allgäu. Its water is plain heated water, not thermal or brine: the operator gives temperatures for each basin but names no spring, no well and no mineral content anywhere in its water-world or sauna pages. The bath is open all year and pairs an indoor hall with outdoor basins and, in summer, a natural bathing lake on the same site.
The pages enumerate the basins individually rather than giving a total. The Erlebnisbecken with its current channel is 280 m² of water at 31 °C and 1.35 m deep, with underwater lighting that changes colour and whirlpool loungers with air-bubble massage. A separate 25-metre sports pool has four lanes, 250 m² of water at 27 °C and depths from 0.90 m to 1.85 m; the swimming courses for children and the adult aqua courses are held there. The indoor children's pool holds 30 m² at 32 °C, 0.20 m to about 0.45 m deep, with a water penguin and a lighthouse slide and an elephant slide; the outdoor children's area adds 22 m² at 32.0 degrees with an adventure tube, a water weir and a water wheel. The hot outdoor pool holds 48 m² at 32 °C and 1.35 m deep, used year-round and specifically recommended in winter frost. Alongside lies the Naturbadesee, a natural bathing lake of 1,700 m² up to 1.34 m deep at 16 °C to 18 °C, with a sunbathing lawn. The slide is the "Crazy Bob" tyre slide, 115 metres long and described as a wild-water channel.
The sauna landscape holds six different cabins, which the operator lists with temperatures: the Allgäuer Stadelsauna at 85 °C, clad in original barn boards on a base of Finnish Kelo logs with a hand-laid natural-stone stove in the middle and room for about 30 to 40 people; the Seesauna at 85 °C with panorama glazing over the bathing lake towards the Alpspitze and a sun deck above the water; the Kelo-Sauna at 90 °C, named as the hottest in the house; the Mentalsauna at 75 °C with relaxation music and light therapy; the Sanarium at 60 °C with 40% humidity; and the steam bath "Nautilus" at 42 °C, themed on Jules Verne as a submarine. A sauna lake for plunging, quiet rooms, a sun terrace and bookable massages and wellness treatments complete the section.
Bath and sauna open Monday to Friday 10.00-22.00 and at weekends and on public holidays 09.00-22.00. The house is closed on Christmas Eve, open until 15.00 on New Year's Eve and from 13.00 on New Year's Day. The operator announces an annual maintenance shutdown, given for 2026 as Monday 21 September to Friday 25 September inclusive. The restaurant "Taverna" serves bath and sauna guests until 21.30.
