About

The H2Oh! is an indoor leisure pool at Schelthofer Straße 80 in Tönisvorst, operated by the municipal utility NEW as one of its group of baths in the Mönchengladbach, Viersen and Grevenbroich area. The operator's page lists its pools as a numbered series rather than giving a total. Becken 1 is the sports pool, 1.80 m to 3.80 m deep with a water area of 256.25 m², given elsewhere on the same page as a 25-metre pool with six lanes and starting blocks. Becken 2 is the leisure pool, 1.00 m to 1.35 m deep with a water area of 210 m², which the page places indoors. Becken 3 is the teaching pool, 0.64 m to 0.90 m deep with 52 m² of water. Becken 4 is the paddling pool, 0.14 m to 0.42 m deep with 36 m², fitted with an elephant slide and water spouts; the introduction calls this pool extra-warm. No water temperature figure is published for any of the four.

The principal attraction is a tube slide the operator states as 60 metres long. The leisure area carries massage jets and whirl loungers, and there is a lawn outside for sunbathing. The diving facility is described in two different ways on the same page: the introduction speaks of a 1- and 3-metre Sprungturm, a diving tower, while the equipment list states that the Sprunganlage consists of a 1-metre and a 3-metre Sprungbrett, a springboard. Both readings are left as the operator published them.

There is no sauna and no thermal or brine water. Keyword sweeps of the page for Sauna, Sole and Therme return no hits, and the section the operator heads as relaxation lists only the massage jets and the whirl loungers. Opening hours and admission prices are loaded into the page by script and are absent from its source, so no hours or prices are reproduced here. The page does set out the access restrictions: from 16:30 on Mondays the bath is reserved for clubs and closed to the public, except in the school holidays when it is open from 09:30 to 21:30; school swimming occupies the teaching and sports pools on weekdays from 08:00 to 14:00, with at least two lanes of the sports pool kept free for the public; parts of the leisure pool are unavailable on Tuesdays and Wednesdays outside the school holidays, and further sections are taken by clubs on Thursday from 16:00 to 20:30 and Friday from 17:00 to 19:30. Swimming ends 15 minutes and admission 30 minutes before closing, and a locker takes a 2-euro coin. The German Wikipedia article on Tönisvorst records the H2Oh! as a Spaßschwimmbad built on the site of the town's demolished older indoor pool, with a combined heat and power plant that also supplied district heat to the Pipper housing area; it does not state the opening year separately, so none is given here.
