Atlantis

Atlantis Dorsten is operated by Bäderbetrieb Dorsten GmbH and is built around a planted hall under a UV-transmitting dome, with the original Baltic Sea cutter "Ole Wismar" standing in the water. The Erlebnisbecken is the centre of the hall: the operator gives it "über 1.200m² Wasserfläche" and a depth of 0.65 m to 1.30 m, with massage jets, waterfalls and an adjoining current channel (Strömungskanal) with a bubble bay. A whirlpool in the same hall is 60 cm deep and held at 30 °C. A separate 25-metre sports pool has five lanes, of which two are permanently reserved for lane swimmers and swimming courses. The toddler area has an ankle-deep children's pool with two small slides, a changing corner with shower, and a mud and sand play area of over 250 m².

The slide count on the operator's own page is contradictory: the heading announces "sieben High-Tech-Rutschen mit einer Gesamtlänge von 470,5 Metern", but the same page then names nine slides — Meeresrausch (a turbo slide, minimum age 6, ridden alone), Amazonasreise, described as the longest at 125 metres and rideable with tyres, Tiefseeleuchten (a dark tube with light effects), the children's slide Blue Dolphin from the Lagunenblick rock, the bodybowl slide Tropenwirbel with a start of up to 30 km/h and up to three turns in the bowl (minimum age 10), the Korallenstrudel spiral tube (minimum age 8), the open-air Silver Slide, and the two small Tropenrutsche and Krokodilrutsche in the children's area. We reproduce both statements rather than choosing between them.

The water is plain heated fresh water. Neither the operator's site nor its price pages claim a thermal spring, a well or a source temperature, and no such claim should be read into the bath. The one mineral element is the outdoor Solebecken, a heated brine pool in the garden which the operator describes as circulation-promoting and containing "alle wichtigen Mineralien"; no brine concentration, well depth or analysis figure is published. The outdoor area also holds a 25-metre open-air pool, 0.65–1.30 m deep, open from Easter to the end of the autumn holidays, with massage jets, cascade showers and the Silver Slide, plus a lawn, a beach court and a summer bistro.

The sauna landscape is textile-free and is enumerated rather than totalled: the Erdsauna at 90 °C, described as the hottest and largest with room for up to 90 people; the Luontosauna at 80 °C; the Rosenstube at 70 °C, reserved for women on Thursdays; a Sanarium at 60 °C and about 30% humidity; a steam bath at 45 °C with 100% humidity; an Aufgusssauna with three bench heights; and a salt grotto with lit salt-stone panelling and an integrated graduation wall. Indoors there are a reading corner, a rest room, a plunge pool and a bucket shower; the sauna garden adds a cold pool, a second plunge pool, two shower towers with Kneipp hoses, a natural pond with fish and a rest house with a fireplace. An infusion programme runs through the day, including a four-seasons infusion every Friday at 19:00.

Bathing hours for the fun bath are Sunday 9:00–22:00, Monday to Friday 12:00–21:00 and Saturday 9:00–22:00; the sauna opens at 10:00 daily. Last admission is 60 minutes before the stated closing time. During North Rhine-Westphalian school holidays and on bridging days the fun bath opens at 10:00 on weekdays; on public holidays weekend hours apply, and the bath is closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve. Admission on weekdays is 12 euro for adults and 9 euro for children for three hours, 15 and 12 euro for a day ticket; at weekends, in the holidays and on public holidays the same tickets cost 14, 11, 17 and 14 euro. The wellness and sauna tariff is 19.50 euro for three hours and 24.00 euro for a day ticket and includes use of the fun bath and the brine pool. A sports-swimmer hour costs 5.50 euro.
