Aquapark Oberhausen

The AQUApark Oberhausen is a leisure bath built in the style of a Ruhr coal mine, standing near the Marina Oberhausen and the CentrO. It divides into three areas the operator calls Reviere: the Erlebnis-Revier, the Sport-Revier and the Freibad-Revier. The operator states that each of the three holds a 25-metre pool; it publishes no total pool count. The water is plain heated water. Neither the pool pages, the temperature page nor the overview mention thermal water, a spring or brine anywhere.

The operator publishes its water temperatures openly on a dedicated page: swimming pool, club pool and slides about 28 °C, whirlpool, children's area and geyser pool 34 °C, the Freizeitbecken 31 °C and the outdoor pool 30 °C, with current values posted daily at reception. The Erlebnis-Revier sits under a 45-metre spherical dome of transparent elements that can be driven open, so the hall can be used open-air in good weather, and is centred on an 18-metre winding tower. It holds a family area for children, a water event landscape with a replica coal seam, a large shaft hall with bubbling geyser pools, and a current channel. Reception is styled as the mine's Markenstube and the changing rooms as the Waschkaue. The open-air area has 10,500 square metres of lawn.

Four slides are listed. The Blindschacht is a 105-metre black-hole slide with dark passages and LED bend lighting; the Tagschacht is a 120-metre X-Tube for one or two people on a tyre, wide enough to overtake and partly translucent; the Knappenrutsche is a three-lane racer built beside the dome hall on the open-air grounds; and a flying slide leaves a platform of the 18-metre winding tower and ends in the Freizeitbecken after a 1.5-metre free fall. The operator contradicts itself on the racer's length: its heading reads "Knappenrutsche (80 Meter Racer Slide)" while the paragraph below says the slide is 90 metres per lane. The two tower slides are released from age 6, the racer from 8 and the flying slide from 12; the flying slide runs at set times of 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, 17:00 and 19:00 rather than continuously. The site also dates the racer inconsistently, as spring 2019 on the overview page and mid-2019 on the slides page.

All three areas open daily 09:00 to 21:00, the open-air area during the summer season only; the sport pool is restricted to shorter public windows during school holidays and by courses. Published admission for Monday to Friday is 15.00 euro for an adult day ticket, 14.00 euro reduced, 12.00 euro for children and 43.00 euro for a family, with shorter two- and four-hour tariffs below those and a 2.00 euro surcharge per single ticket at weekends and on holidays. Children up to one metre tall enter free. No sauna is listed anywhere on the site. The operator writes that it celebrated its tenth anniversary in December 2019 but states no opening year.
