De Bütt

Freizeitbad De Bütt stands at Zum Schwimmbad 1, 47877 Willich on the Lower Rhine and is run by the town. It is not a single open-air bath but three linked areas — Hallenbad, Freibad and Sauna — each with its own attractions page, hours and tariff. German Wikipedia records that Willich got an indoor bath in 1965, that the building on Schiefbahner Straße was extended by an open-air bath in 1974, that the bath burned down in 1990 and that the town replaced it with a family-oriented sport and leisure bath named De Bütt, opened in June 1994, with more than 500,000 visitors a year. The water is plain heated pool water throughout: a python sweep of the operator's attraction, hours, tariff and information pages for Therme, Sole, Mineral and Quelle returned no occurrence of any of them, and no spring, source temperature or mineral content is claimed anywhere.

The indoor hall lists a 90-metre Black Hole slide with its own landing pool; a 200-square-metre leisure pool with an all-year outdoor pool attached, massage jets and air bubblers at about 30.5 degrees; a 25-metre sports pool with six lanes at about 27 degrees; a teaching pool at about 31.5 degrees; a paddling pool with a lighthouse slide at about 31.5 degrees; a small-children's pool with a squirting pelican at about 30.5 degrees; two whirlpools at about 33 degrees; a 3-metre tower and 1-metre board; changing rooms for families, groups and individuals; and an indoor lawn. No pool total is published, only the enumeration.

The open-air bath has an adventure pool with a current channel, water curtain, bubble loungers and massage jets; a sports pool with eight lanes; an action pool with a 15-metre wide slide; a baby pool with a little-boat channel; and, alongside the water, a 160 square metre bouncing cushion, a children's mud installation, a large play device, a tricycle and bobby-car track, a football field and a lawn with old trees. The operator states one temperature for the whole open-air area: 25 degrees in all pools. The 2026 open-air season runs from 4 May to 27 September and is stated to run irrespective of weather, with hours of Monday 13–19, Tuesday and Thursday 7:30–19, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays 10–19; the bath closes on the first Sunday in September for the annual triathlon.

The sauna area is equipped with a steam bath at 45 degrees, a Niederrhein bio sauna at 60 degrees, a Schloßpark sauna at 80 degrees and a panorama infusion sauna at 90 degrees, with scented infusions, a plunge pool and cold-water area with shower and Kneipp hose, a foot basin, quiet rooms, a conservatory and roof terrace with loungers, and catering; again no total is given. The sauna is closed on Mondays — a notice of 10 August 2026 attributes this to municipal savings measures hitting staffing — and otherwise opens Tuesday and Thursday 9:30–20 and Wednesday to Sunday and holidays 10:30–20, with Tuesdays all day and Thursdays until 14:30 reserved as women's sauna. Sauna admission is 16.50 euro for three hours and 19.50 for a day ticket, with one-off access to the open-air bath at 4.00 euro. Indoor bathing costs 6.00, 7.50 and 9.00 euro for adults for two hours, four hours and a day ticket and 3.50, 4.50 and 5.50 for children aged 3 to 17; the open-air day ticket is 7.00 euro for adults and 5.00 for children, with an evening ticket from 17.00 at 4.00 euro and season tickets at 140 and 90 euro. At the time of reading the indoor hall was closed: the Hallenbad tariff page carries the heading „Hallenbad geschlossen“ with the note that this is refurbishment-related and expected to last until the beginning of October 2026, and every row of its hours table reads geschlossen. All areas close on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Christmas Eve and both Christmas days, and for a deep clean three to four weeks before Christmas.
