Apumare is the open-air adventure bath of the town of Attnang-Puchheim on the Spitzberg, with seven pools, timed water slides and a diving tower, sharing its site with the Freizeitzentrum sauna area that stays open through the winter.

About

Apumare is the open-air bath of the Stadtgemeinde Attnang-Puchheim in Upper Austria, at Badgasse 36 on the Spitzberg. The town describes it as an adventure bath and gives its layout as about 20,000 m² of lawn shaded by old trees, seven pools (sports, diving, relax and adventure pools among them) with a combined water surface of 1,149 m², water slides with timing, a naturist area, beach volleyball courts, a barbecue area, a buffet, a large car park and a bus connection. The operator's leisure-centre folder adds detail to the pool set: an adventure pool with a large slide and a wide slide, a children's pool with an elephant slide, a diving tower, the timed slides and a children's playground, and it notes that the naturist section has a swimming pool of its own. The folder gives the water surface as over 1,100 m² where the web page gives 1,149 m²; the two operator documents are not reconciled and no per-pool dimensions or water temperatures are published.

The open-air bath runs from May to September, daily from 10:00 to 19:30 in bathing weather and 10:00 to 11:00 only in bad weather, with the tills closing 60 minutes and bathing 30 minutes before closing. The town states plainly that there is no entitlement to the opening hours being kept and that the duty pool attendant decides on closure for meteorological reasons. From May to August the Proaktiv4D fitness studio runs AquaPower sessions in the water.

The same municipal leisure centre operates a sauna area at Badgasse 34 which is open all year and is charged separately. The town enumerates the cabins rather than totalling them: in the general area a 90-degree sauna, a steam bath with brine misting, a bio-sauna (Sanarium), a Finnish sauna that climbs from 20 to 90 degrees in 30 minutes, plunge and foot pools and rest rooms; in the women's area an 85-degree sauna, a second steam bath with brine misting, plunge and foot pools and a rest room. An infrared cabin, indoor and outdoor loungers and an outdoor pool heated to 18 degrees in winter complete the set; in summer the sauna lawn is the naturist area of the open-air bath. Sauna hours are Monday 17:00–21:00 (mixed only), Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 09:00–21:00, Wednesday 15:00–21:00, Saturday 12:00–20:00 and Sunday 09:00–18:00 (mixed only), closed on public holidays. A sauna ticket or season ticket also admits the holder to the open-air bath during sauna opening hours. The water is ordinary heated pool water: neither the bath page, the sauna page nor the folder mentions a spring, thermal water or a borehole, and the only brine on the site is the salt-brine mist in the two steam baths. Day admission to the open-air bath is €7.20 at the normal rate, €5.20 for seniors and €3.90 reduced or for a half-day from 16:00, with an annual normal ticket at €133.00.
