Embricana
Embricana in Emmerich am Rhein is a municipal leisure bath with four main pools, an 86-metre body slide and a separately run sauna landscape of six cabins with its own outdoor pool.
About
Embricana is run by EMBRICANA Freizeit- und Sport GmbH at Nollenburger Weg 34 in Emmerich am Rhein, and the operator presents it as two halves under one name: a portal page headed "Embricana – Freizeitbad und Sauna" tells visitors that the tiles lead "auf die jeweiligen Internetseiten des Freizeitbades und der Saunalandschaft". The bath half runs its own site as Freizeitbad Embricana, the sauna half as Sauna Embricana, and each publishes separate hours and separate admission prices.
The bath enumerates its pools rather than giving a total. The outdoor Erlebnisbecken is listed at "360 m², 27 °C, 13,5 Meter Breitrutsche"; the Thermalbecken, which runs indoors and outdoors, at "120 m², 30 °C"; the indoor Erlebnisbecken at "70 m², 27 °C, Wasserpilz, Grotte und Massagestrahl"; and the Sportbecken at "Fünf 25-Meter-Bahnen, 300 m², 27 °C". Despite its name, the Thermalbecken is described only by its area and temperature: the operator makes no claim of thermal spring water, brine or mineral content anywhere on the bath or sauna pages, so the water should be read as plain heated water. Two pools close in cold weather to save energy — the outdoor pool when the day's maximum stays under 5 degrees, and the outdoor part of the Thermalbecken during sustained frost.
Two slides are published: the enclosed Black Hole at "86 Meter, ca. 12 Sekunden" with water curtain, light and sound effects, and a three-lane Breitrutsche of "Drei mal 13 Meter, ca. 4 Sekunden" covering 39 m². A 200 m² indoor Kinderwelt holds a toddler pool with a boat channel, a water play table and a mini slide, and outdoors in warm weather the 80 m² Jungle-Pool, 22 cm deep, adds two slides plus water spouts and tippers.
The sauna landscape is marketed as "Sechs Wege zu tiefster Entspannung" and names them individually: Valo-Bad, Ruusu-Sauna, a ceramic steam bath, Sointi, an Event sauna and the Maa sauna, in solid log-built sauna houses, with rest rooms in the Asia building, a fireplace lounge in the event building, a lawn and terraces. Cooling is by plunge pool, bucket shower, alternating showers, crushed ice, event showers and cold mist; the sauna's own outdoor pool runs at 28 °C year-round with waterfall and massage jets. No cabin temperatures are published. Massages are sold separately by an in-house partner and are open to non-sauna guests.
Bath hours are Monday closed, Tuesday 6 to 21, Wednesday 6 to 10, Thursday and Friday 6 to 21, Saturday 10 to 18, Sundays and public holidays 10 to 18; the sport pool is blocked by clubs and schools at times shown in a separate occupancy plan. Bath admission is 9.50 € adult day ticket, 5.00 € for children 4 to 15 and 23.00 € for a family of two adults and up to three children, with cheaper two- and three-hour, early-swim, happy-hour and senior rates. The sauna keeps its own hours — Monday is women-only, 10 to 22 Monday to Thursday, to 23 on Friday, to 22 Saturday and to 21 on Sundays and holidays — and charges 27.00 € on Monday to Thursday and 30.00 € Friday to Sunday for an adult day ticket. Neither site publishes an opening year.
