Inselbad Bahia

Bahia, at Hemdener Weg in Bocholt, North Rhine-Westphalia, is a combined water park and sauna complex operating as Sauna- und Wasserwelten Bahia.

Water world

The water area holds several pools, including experience, action and deep pools, an outdoor pool and whirlpools. It also has water slides, a diving tower with splash effects, a current channel, water-play features, a grotto and a children's play area.

Sauna world

The sauna section offers ten different saunas, among them a Finnish sauna, a Latvian pirts, an earth sauna, a bio-sanarium, a herbal sauna, a rose sauna and a steam bath, as well as a treehouse sauna and an infusion sauna, with salt cabins, brine pools, rest areas and a sauna garden. The facility holds a five-star rating from the German Sauna Association, its highest grade.

Pool specifics

The 435 m² Erlebnisbecken (four 25 m lanes) runs at 30 °C and 1.35 m; the 300 m² outdoor pool holds 27.5 °C at 1.35 m, with an outdoor slide and a lawn for table tennis and beach volleyball; the action pool is 1.15 m deep at 32 °C; the deep pool has four 25 m lanes at 1.80–3.80 m and 28 °C, plus the 3 m diving tower into 3.8 m water and a 1 m board; two whirlpools run at 36 °C. Slides include an outdoor wide slide, the tube-choice “Aqua Choice” and a lit “Eventrutsche”, with 15-minute splash jets on the hour at the diving tower.
