Dünen-Therme

Dünen-Therme is a leisure and wellness complex in St. Peter-Ording, on the North Sea coast of Schleswig-Holstein. Its leisure and adventure pool (Freizeit- und Erlebnisbad) has five pools: a leisure pool at about 26-28°C, a children's and baby pool at 34-36°C, an outdoor pool at about 26-28°C with sea and dune views, an adventure pool at 28-30°C with geysers and surge showers, and a whirlpool at 34-36°C; three slides complete the bathing area, though wave operation is currently suspended for technical reasons. The sauna landscape holds five cabins: a hexagonal log-cabin sauna at 90-100°C, a pile-dwelling (Pfahlbau) sauna at about 80°C overlooking the dunes, a beginner-friendly pine sauna at about 80°C, a Strandsanarium at 50-60°C, and a seawater steam bath at 45-48°C. The adjoining Gesundheits- und Wellnesszentrum offers massages, thalasso treatments, seawater baths and physiotherapy, using local remedies such as seawater, mud (Schlick) and sulphur brine (Schwefelsole). The leisure pool and sauna landscape are open Monday to Thursday 10:00-20:00, Friday and Saturday 10:00-21:00, and Sunday and holidays 10:00-19:00; the wellness centre keeps separate weekday hours and is closed on Sunday.
